Sri:

What one really requires to live a satisfied life? Is it Bhakthi? GrihastAshramam? What if one don’t get real Bhakthi?

Or one need to abstain from life & become Sanyasi?

I am sure Kambandasan Swamy will answer this from Bhagawath Gita

Nowadays parents get hype in telling “My son is working in California”

If we do kainkaryam in Madhavaperumal temple people look cheap at us.

Nobody likes to say my son is doing Kainkaryam in Kesava Perumal temple.

Koilla Vela seiyarara?

Real value of life enga irukku?

Kainkaryam vs Velai am confused

Dhakshinai vs Rate am confused?

Why terminologies are changing?

Which is real value that will give complete satisfaction?

Srimate Ramanujaya Namaha!

Namaskaaram Swami,

As far as adiyen knows, it is certainly Bhakti. Of course, when in bhakti, great devotees sometimes cry in separation from Perumal. But that crying is different from normal crying. It is still contentment.

Coincidentally, even my parents went to Madhava Perumal temple a few weeks back. Adiyen heard that two mothers were talking proudly about their sons being in the US. So sometimes such things do happen. But the real question is how far are we ourselves perfect?

I am waiting for Kambandasan swami to correct adiyen, if at all adiyen said something incorrectly.

If I am perfect this question wouldn’t have arisen
The problem is my bhakthi is fake
I am cheating Perumal

Namaskaram,
When you do kainkaryam to our parents( Baghawan, Thayar), it is the ultimatum of all services- no match at all, then why do we worry or care about such statements?? . You are lucky that you are given this rare opportunity now, which might require millions of millions of rebirths to get this.
Moreover, if they are destined to get wisdom this birth then they would realise about this sooner or later;else in any other birth..

However, if you realize about Baghawan, Thayar, Alwar, Aacharyas and the importance of kainkaryam to them then you are already achievef the highest echelon…. then no need to heed to those…
Infact, you have to pity on those who state like you have mentioned…coz, the are still at the lowest step…

Living in california or in cuddalore doesnt yield what you are supposed to achieve ( attain moksham or aAthma ujjeevanam)…
Whatever, you ate, you dressed, lived for your bodily / mental pleasure or satisfaction would not last for ever.
I would rather say that Mathava perumal kainkaryam yields much satisfaction ( paragon) than these materialistic pleasures…

Instead, you do kainkaryam or help others in need ( Dhanam) is the real pleasure or satisfaction that lasts for ever- be it mind/ body or aAthma…

Srimate Raaamnujaye Namaha,

Swami quoting some relevant slokas from Bhagavat Geeta.

Chapter 2 TEXT 71: A person who has given up all desires for sense gratification, who lives free from desires, who has given up all sense of proprietorship and is devoid of false ego – he alone can attain real peace.

Chapter 12, TEXT 2: The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Those who fix their minds on My personal form and are always engaged in worshiping Me with great and transcendental faith are considered by Me to be most perfect

Chapter 12 Text 13 to 19 below indicate what makes one dear to the Lord, in which case one will automatically become contented.

TEXTS 13-14: One who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living entities, who does not think himself a proprietor and is free from false ego, who is equal in both happiness and distress, who is tolerant, always satisfied, self-controlled, and engaged in devotional service with determination, his mind and intelligence fixed on Me – such a devotee of Mine is very dear to Me.
TEXT 15: He by whom no one is put into difficulty and who is not disturbed by anyone, who is equipoised in happiness and distress, fear and anxiety, is very dear to Me.
TEXT 16: My devotee who is not dependent on the ordinary course of activities, who is pure, expert, without cares, free from all pains, and not striving for some result, is very dear to Me.
TEXT 17: One who neither rejoices nor grieves, who neither laments nor desires, and who renounces both auspicious and inauspicious things – such a devotee is very dear to Me.
TEXTS 18-19: One who is equal to friends and enemies, who is equipoised in honor and dishonor, heat and cold, happiness and distress, fame and infamy, who is always free from contaminating association, always silent and satisfied with anything, who doesn’t care for any residence, who is fixed in knowledge and who is engaged in devotional service – such a person is very dear to Me.

Thank you for the question swamy, it was a revision for myself to revisit and check if my priorities are correct.

Srimate Raamanujaya Namaha,

Swami thought.about this and relaized that those who are strong in their bhakti practice and have become enlightened based on internal reciprocation received from the Lord..they become happy and contented and don’t care about remarks made by common people..but when one is in the transition period of trying to reach this state..it is tough and painful to hear and digest such comments..may be during such time we should hear more upanyasams to make the mind stronger.
