Swamy,
Even though the motive is good, is it okay to use animals as test beings? Why should they suffer? Animals don’t have karma then why they suffer?

If it’s a predator it’s fine but why torture & suffer?

Adiyen swami

It’s wrong to torture any animals.. our swami just shared what’s going in medical industry currently .. our swami just shared to compare the developments in science and spiritual .. but torturing anything is wrong only .. our swami explained many times in other upanyasams..

Sri:
The context of the question is different. It’s not about Swamy endorsing an activity or not. Humans have karma animals don’t. Adiyen in college saw a white rat/mouse being tested with hot red rod by an Iyengar boy.

PAkavey bayangarama irundhadhu.

Adiyen queried what’s happening? he said I am testing burn medicine.

Adiyen quickly ran out. Will mouse give shApam to that boy? That boy doing for a good cause.

Will this action result in sin? On a larger benefit will any sin if any will be cleaned by Perumal as in future it will serve humanity? If that’s the case does humans possess special status?

Let me post the question this way

As we are benefiting from the animal torture
1. EITHER I SHOULD NOT BE USING THE MEDICINE
2. OR I TAKE PART OF THE SIN IN THE TORTURE WHICH CAUSED THIS MEDICINE

Dear Vikram swamy,

what you say is 100000…0% correct. Any himsai is wrong, and we will have to face the reaction. No greater good can come out of such himsai. First of all the researcher is not actually doing it for ‘greater good’. He is simply doing it for the selfish reason of getting a degree, getting a job, getting recognition as a ‘scientist’, and such endless selfish reasons, cheating oneself and others as if we are doing it for the greater good of others.

yours truly,

one of those who has engaged in such horrible activities in the past, but by acharya kataksham have been rescued.
