Swami,
Namaskaram. Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan.

I recently(in march) listened to swamy’s old upanyasam where you talk about perumal’s mahatmyam in forest form(naimisharanyam) , water form(pushkara) and rock form(saligrama) and in this upanyasam when u were explaining about Saligrama Mahatmayam you mentioned about how saligram should be kept in a SHESHA Peetham…. After that I searched through web for some images of it but couldn’t find any images nor could I get any answers from my elders(about how it should be and it’s design)… I also heard some talks stating how it differs(design of peetham) from vaishnavas and shaivas(I am not sure if shaivas too have SHESHA peetham but idk.) .We have been doing Nithyaradhanam for almost a year now and I really wanted to buy a SHESHA peetham for our ‘Griha perumal’… So I kindly request you to clarify this with description and some images if possible… Ty.

Ramanuja-Parakalan swamy, namaskaaram.

Please allow me to place the following for your consideration.

As far as I understand, there is a certain etiquette we need to follow even in a vaishnava sanga.  In this connection, I feel it is not appropriate to have asked a question specifically to me in a open forum with so many eleavted persons here. There are so many நிறை குடம்s here; in their presence to pick one தளும்பும் குடம் and ask question on a elevated topic misses due etiquette to all the vaishnavas here.

The earlier two questions (on natella and சிக்கு பலகாய்) are okay. But for a question on sastram related topic, it is not appropriate to ignore so many learned and qualified persons and direct to only one person.

In school and college days we have experienced that sometimes it is easier for us to seek clarifications from a friend than from a teacher who is more qualified. You may have asked in that spirit. But we don’t ask our friend to explain in front of the experts, right? That is not etiquette; that can be considered as disrespect to the experts. The current situation is also like that.

Had you placed this as an open question to everyone on the forum, you are likely to have received a satisfactory answer by now. And if I had known the answer I would too would have contributed then.

I apologise to you and all vishnavas here for any inadvertent aparadhs.

Namskaram To all Vaishnavas

Kambandasan Swami, Devarir is absolutely correct in what stated above, and in specific for Adiyen’s question on shastram topic, asking devarir was only an act which devarir mentioned and not to demean or baulked any other Vaishnavas, in case any bhagwata felt bad then for that Manasara, Kashamika Pratikkaren and also thanks Kambandasan Swami for highlighting it, for Adiyen’s betterment and upliftment.
