reasons God allows sad incidents like rape of a child inside temple premises?

Dear Krishnan Sir and all devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. Please help me by clarifying the following doubts.

I read a news about a young girl who was raped inside Temple premises in Northern India. Incidents like these makes me very sad and want to understand why does our Almighty allow such things to happen, that too inside temple ?

Also, Idols in very famous temples in the past have been broken by invaders, why does all powerful lord allow himself to be beaten ?

Such incidents disturb our mind and sometimes forces some devotees to stop believing in His supreme power.

Adiyaen,

Krishna.

Adiyal thinks that there s no connection between the god And the rape which happened, I too read that news. But I don’t know which temple it was . Just because it happened in a temple doesn’t mean that god is keeping silent by looking at it, if it had happened in Lord Vishnu’s temple adiyal can at least give you a hint that our Lord vishnu or krishna is very calm and composed doesn’t mean that he will not punish bad ppl but he will not do it immediately, they will definitely get punished at some point in their life time .

Namaskaram . Sorry for stepping in before swamy answers.
Adiyen have heard swamy telling in many upanyasams that in Archavatharam Bagavan has taken sankalpam to remain patient and that if he has to punish he should punish everyone as no one is perfect including ourselselves. Also our purvachayas have seen much more during mughal invasions in the past . One such incident is ‘Pannerayiravar mudi tiruthiya pandriazhwan mettu kalagam‘  when Mughals beheaded many srivaishnavas gathered for a Namperumal uthsavam. Many great acharyas like PillaiLokacharya,Vedantha Desikan etc gave their lives for saving Bagawan and the purvacharya granthas. Adiyen have heard swamy telling that decrease in bhakthi is the reason for all these happenings . Many of us have stopped following our varnashrama dharma, doing thiruvarathanam properly etc .Also bagavan wont step in directly and stop something in Kali yuga. The person who did would be punished for sure at some point as no one can escape Karma.Pizhai irunthal Kshamikavum

Hare Krsna Namaskarams

This question is being asked by many non- Bhaktas. Why does such incidents happen in temple? Why doesn’t God intervene? Why doesn’t God react when his shrine is broken? How can a God who cannot swat a fly on his face help us? Why doesn’t he do anything about the bad that is happening around us? How can we trust him and give our life and material comforts in his service when we are not sure that he will save us or not? (While money can award some protection). The answer to all this is we have not understood what is the purpose of the Archa vigraha form of Lord. He is has not appeared in Achara Vigraha form to show magic. He is not in Archa Vigraha form to show his powers. He is  agreed to be in Archa Vigraha form only so that we can give service to him and purify our consciousness. He is in that form of deity to accept our love, help us to remember him. So except that he will jump out of that Vigraha form to kill the demoniac or slap and punish the wrongdoers is wrong expectation. But he protects us in various other ways. Those who follow the path laid down by him will get knowledge, intelligence to understand true nature of this material world which is abode of misery. His guidance in shastras help us to understand that instead of making attempts to increase comforts and pleasures in our life we must try to develop more Bhakti and detachment and renunciation and move more closer to God. Yes we all are sad at the turn of events especially in India, the spiritual capital of the world. Its shameful. As rightly said by other Bhaktas. The culprits will not escape punishement in this world and next. Severe punsihments awaits such erring souls. This should remind us again and again to be serious in our service and spiritual life. The law of land and law of Karma will award them punishment for many many lifetimes. Overall dharma is on decline. People do not want to follow the dharma in true sense as per the shastric injunctions, as per the Guru’s advise. They practice hodge podge religion to suit ones convenience. With that inner change cannot be brought about. Outwardly dressed as priest they do pooja and aarti but inwardly there is no change. Lust anger, greed, arrogance pride can be kept under control only if we follow a bonafide process as per the instructions of guru and we must practice it very strictly with discipline. If that is not the case then its all a charade in the name of temple dharma. I hope this answer satisfies you

Your Humble servant

All bhakatas have give nice perspectives and answers to the concern raised.

Another angle to look at it is..If we expect God to interfere and stop the immoral actions inside temple we should expect it everywhere as well as God is omni present.

But God mostly decides to leave His system to take care of.. and does not usually interfere in the karmic sequence, unless a great pure devotee is involved or prays on behalf.(There are multiple reasons why he does not interfere,1) we wanted so and came here 2) We will feel our free will is choked 3) disturbances here can add impetus for us to go back)

For example Narashimmar did appear from pillar for Bhakta Prahalad !

We are seeing a a very short flash of events in the eternal sequence of the criminal and the victim’s multi life events.

So we cannot digest or ascertain what is good for whom..but God can ascertain it and leaves it to the perfect system of Karma. Karma is so perfect and intricate that it is hard for us to understand and may appear as unfair when we see a short portion.. I am not trying to justify here but all i am syaing is we cannot understand as we don’t know the past and may not know the future.

There is no doubt that Bhagawan is ” suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ
jñātvā māṁ śāntim ṛcchati
” (BG 5.29). So when we know that He is the benefactor and well-wisher of all living entities, then we will attain peace (from the pangs of material miseries) and be undisturbed.

Finally one positive thought, may be if the incident happened somewhere else the girl may have died..but did not happen so in the temple..(i am not sure as i have not read the news)..even if  it was otherwise the next birth would be good

Sri Ramanujaya Munaye Namaha,

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Guruve Namaha,

Bhagavatas,

Swami has said, when there is a KNOWN CAUSE, we CANNOT SEARCH for UNKOWN CAUSE “Karmas”.

For what has happened to the Child is “Irakkam Illadha Gora Seyal (இரக்கம் இல்லாத கோர செயல்). It is a sad incident which no one can digest. Here, the ‘known cause’ is BAD act of a person, which needs to be condemned and further action needs to be taken by Police, Govt. So, we cannot search for a ‘unknown cause’ as why it happened. Only Birth is decided by karmas, the rest happenings in the samsaram are due to probabilities.

Other example is a plane crash is sea. Is all the passengers in the plane have same karmas. Swami says, the answer is NO. It is because of the fault of the machine or fault of the pilot. So, when there is a known cause, don’t search for unkown cause.

We all Bhaktas needs to pray for that Child to be in Perumal’s Lap in Moksham and it need NOT suffer in this Samsaram again due to bad acts of other people who don’t have Eeram on their Hyrdhayam. ஈரம் இல்லாத அசுரர்கள் walking like normal persons with all bad thinking in their manasu. We also needs to continue our Aaradhan for the welfare of other people, and pray to BhagavAN SriKRishna that such incidents shouldnot happen again. Yenakkum, Yellarukkum Nalla Buddhi Kodu endru Keatkavaendum (எனக்கும் எல்லாருக்கும் நல்ல புத்தியை கொடு என்று கேட்கவேண்டும்).

Kuzhandayum Deivamum Ondru குழந்தயும் தெய்வமும் ஒன்று..

There is discourse that Swami says “Why Bad things Happen to Good People”.

Dear Bhakta,

Yes let us pray for the girl and also to prevent such incidents in future.

It is necessary to punish the culprits heavily as otherwise they will suffer more in future births. Also to set example to prevent future incidents like this..

In the context of punishing we don’t need to find unknown cause.

But in the context of why unfair things happen to us or others..we may not know the details or exact reasons.. and we cannot know also…but in principle there should be some reason..We cannot attribute probability to things as everything is happening under Lord’s plan directly or by dictation of His systems which He has established.

I don’t think Lord’s system will allow probabilities.Only probability arises from use of free will by living entities, but that too is within a bound region and with a small area of free space only

I have heard the upanyasam by Swami on “why bad things happen to good people” What i understood and remember is for certain events “we cannot find a one to one mapping of why certain events happen, so should not try to find the specific cause, but in general there is some cause.. “

Adiyen.

Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha,
Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Guruvae Namaha,

Bhagavata,

Swami in has about Niyatha Karmas (Pre-determined) & Aniyatha karmas (Not Pre-determined).

Being in Samasram, most of us are are subject to both Niyatha and Aniyatha karmas, which cannot be predicted. A grow-up adult knows how to utilize Jiva Swathantriyam, so BhagavAn expects it from us to pray HIM. Swami has said in the past that, any child under 12 years “Neither Accumulates karmas, Nor Relinguishes karmas” as per shastras. So Bhagavan doesn’t expect anything from the child under 12 years. So, such bad acts of a grown adult (misusing its Jiva Swathantriyam) against a child is treated as a HEAVY crime under local law books (Social Justice) and Divine law book (Shastras). In general, Any person doing bad acts, has to either go through the Severe Treatment (in jail or hell) or Plead for his mistake to the Public laws as well as to BhagavAn. It will be up to BhagavAn, what to decide, like how we have pleaded to BhagavAn in past Janmas to forgive our mistakes.

அரசன் நின்று கேட்பான், இறைவன் அன்று கேட்பான்.

BhagavAn has given responsibility to local laws (arasu/govt) to take action here , if missed here, then BhagavAn will take action in hell.

We need to also pray to BhagavAn/Acharyas lotus feet that, everyones including ours ‘Buddhi and Actions’ should be in positive perspective for a harmony home and society, since Swami has said that fundementals of Sanatana Dharmam is “Thani Manitha Ozukkam , தனி மனித ஒழுக்கம்”.

Adiyen Sri Velukkudi Krishna Dasan,
Uyya Oraey Vazhi UdayavAr ThiruvAdi,
Sarvam SriKrisharpanam Asthu.
