Offering Neiyedhiyam

Namaskaram.

adiyen perform puja daily, offer food as neiyedhiyam and then take break fast. I offer part of food prepared as neiyedhiyam. Of late, since schools are opened, my grandson and sometimes his parents take food before I perform puja, since he has to be taken to school. By the time I complete my routine it becomes late to catch up the time. Hence, I put the food in pooja room before they take break fast. I am not sure it can be ok. Alternatively, I am thinking of offering fruits / change my routine accordingly. Any suggestions?.

Namaskaram. Adiyen have a related question.

In the mornings, kids eat lunch before going to school and carry tiffin item along with them to be had in the school.  So, adiyen prepares both lunch and tiffin by 6:45AM and offer the entire full portion of them to Perumal for Him to kandarulappanna.

My question is – Is it ok for me to offer food (instead of my husband)? My husband usually finishes his sandhyavandanam, reciting stotras and sukthams by around 8AM.  So, adiyen dont wait for him to offer.  Recently I heard that only men are supposed to offer.  Is that so?

Sri:

Adiyen will try to respond
1. Grandfather scenario: Nivedanam can be done before doing elaborate Puja. Nothing wrong according to me. As long as no kramam is being followed.
2. Mother scenario: Only ThiruvArAdhanam can be done by males as it has standard operating practices. Mothers can do Nivedanam why not?

Pathram Pushpam Phalam Thoyam is for everyone

In case athukarar does Sandhyavandhanam etc he can be asked to stand in front of puja room for 2 mins.

Let us wait for Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy
