Swami, Adiyen would like to SHARE some HEALTH TIPS in this Forum to all Bhaktas which adiyen has heard from DEvareer UPanyasamas and from other Santana Dharmis pracharams who talk about Shastric way of maintaining Healthy body as long as we live here for ‘Kainakryams’. Some technical cross-references and continuation of previous thread about “MIndful Eating for Healthy BOdy”

Below are few things that we can understand and follow in this Practical World which is COMPLETELY IN-LINE with our PoorvAcharyas Anustanams. IF we follow our POorvaCHaryas way of LIfe “Seyyadhana Seiyyom”, then Adiyen have NO doubht of we having any health isssues for any Bhaktas. However, we couldn’t follow ALL in this Practical World. BUt, we should try as much as possible.

These methods are FREE of cost and can be done by anyone poor or rich at home or anywhere. Following these methods, eliminates any Unwanted situations of adulterated foods, water etc….Keeps us less worry about it.

A few basic concepts are explained below:

The contamination of blood is the root cause for all diseases.

By cleansing the blood of impurities all diseases can be cured.

By regulating the food, drinking water, breathing air, sleep and work or physical activity the blood can be purified.

By regulating the food 50% of the diseases can be cured.

But only by regulating, drinking water, sleep, physical activity, and breathing air, the permanent cure can be maintained

 

Ofcourse, BHagvaAN Sriman Naraynan is the final Decision Maker to CURE anything “Vaidhyo Narayano Harihi“, but we need to follow as much as possible for BhagvAn HAppiness.

 

Health Tips: Human Body is made up of five elements (Pancha Bhootham): Earth, Water, Space, Air and Fire. So proper maintenance of all the five elements in our body at all times is MANDATORY to have a healthy body consistently.

 

I. Food (EARTH element):

  1. GOD The Supreme Sriman Narayanan/SriKrishna should be thanked and prayed before eating food.
  2. Do eat ONLY if you are hungry (Jaatara Agni inside stomach is generated which is the cause of Good Digestion and results in Good glucose generation). Pancreas the Qulaity dept releases body’s own Insulin to a Good glucose only. Each cell in body doen’t accept the glucose if there is no body’s own Insulin. So, If we eat when not hungry, due to NO Jaatara Agni, it results in Indigested food, which leads to bad glucose and further cell will not function and results in dead cells and cancer so on.
  3. Food that we eat should have SIX tastes (Sweet, Salt, Pungent, Sour, Bitter and Astringent). Eat Sweet taste first before having any cooked food. Sweet taste activates the Stomach enzymes for easy digestion. While eating FRUITS, no need to worry about six tastes, since all fruits have all the Six tastes but the proportion varies. So, in old times, they say “Aru Suvai Unavu” for cookded food. Remember, Taste is different from Food. Ex: a pulippu taste is needed for eyes function etc…
  4. Swallow the food only after TASTING the food fully in your tongue while CHEWING with CLOSED MOUTH (means NO talking, just focus on food). 20% digestion happens in mouth due to Salavia, and remining 60% digestion happens in Stomach due to Jaatara Agni (Amilam, acid). We need to put the food in mouth without the hand touching the salavia, as it cuses contatimation, but we need to chew/mash the food with salaiva before sending it to stomach. Many Viadhehas mistake as swalloing it from mouth straight to stomach, but shouldnot be done, as the food is not mashed in mouth, means in-digestion and further bad glucose and disease.
  5. Close your EYES, close your LIPS and chew the food very SLOWLY. While chewing, don’t SEPERATE your lips. Mash the food in mouth till it is fine paste, then swallow the food.
  6. Don’t drink water within 30 minutes before and after eating. If necessary, drink only little water in such a way that it reaches only to the throat to satisfy thirst while eating. Otherwise, Water is dilute the Jaatara Agni and casues IN-digested food in Stomach. THat is one of the reason PoorvAcharyas while eating Prasdham/food, they keep the glass of water on right side, so that the glass of water is long enough for the left hand to reach, so drinking is avoided. Hence, we avoid drinking water while eating. Exception is, during hick-ups, drink little water to satisfy the THroat and not the fill the stomach with water. This is taken care with parisheshanam, as the water gets only to throat and not to the stomach, plus Perumal is Happy due to following Shastric way of eating food.
  7. Focus ONLY on the food that you are eating . DON’T watch ANYTHING, like TV or Talk or Read books or Cell Phone browsing or watch Other’s activities while eating, since it diverts your attention from food.
  8. After bath, wait for minimum of 45 minutes to have food. If you had your food before bath, wait minimum of 2.5 hours before taking bath. Body works to maintain 98F inside Temperature all teh time, so after bathing, the body temperature is low, so all teh blood in teh body’s PRIMARY focus is to bring up this temperature back to 98F. This makes sense, how PErumal introduced ThiruAradhani after bath (ATma and Body benefit), which makes body temperature come back to normal temperature 98F in those 45 minutes. So after Aradhani, eat Prasadham, then blood has already finished its job of brining up the body temparture back to 98F, and now it can focus on stomach area for digestion. SO, when we eat right after bath, Blood’s PRIORITY is to bring back body temparture to 98F, so it doesnot focus on stomach area, and this causes bad digestion and further health issues.
  9. Wash you hands,foot and face before eating.
  10. Don’t keep your legs floating while eating.
  11. Sit on the ground eating with folded legs, since Dhosham is eliminated if any. Blood circulates from head to leg. When we eat, the blood circualtion is needed more around stomach for better digestion. So, when we sit on ground, the blood circulation is arrested beyond the hip and more blood is circulated in stomach area for easy digestion. When we stand and eat, the easy digestion doesn’t happen, as blood is circualtion everywhere and takes time for disgestion. In unavoidable situation like office, fold you legs in chair and eat, if sitting on ground is not possible.
  12. STOP eating when you get your first burp. If the above 11 steps are followed, then we will automatically get a burp whcih we would have never expereinced in our life, which is the indication that stomach is half filled and indication by body telling us to stop eating. Little more is ok, not not too much after 1st burp. “Paanaka Narasimhar” koil, when “Paanakam” is offered, BhagavAN takes up only half of teh paanakam that is offered, This is a indication to tell us that we need to eat only half of teh stomach and not full stomach. Like, stomach is divided into 4 compartments. 1/2 should be for food, 1/4 should be for air & 1/4 should be for Water. But, we overdose food to 100% of stomach size, and no space for air/water to circualte. Eventually, bad digestion and health issues.
  13. Eat your any favorite Satvika food, but follow the above steps. Stop eating the food immediately that you dislike, since your body is rejecting, so don’t eat.

Perumal inside the Body is the indicator telling us what to do, so follow HIS directions from inside.

 

 

II. Drinking Water (WATER element):

  1. Don’t drink boiled or cold or filtered water. Drink water at room temperature. Warm water is also OK to drink.
  2. Drink water only when you are thirsty. Don’t drink water if you are not thirsty.
  3. Drink only Adequate water when you are thirsty. Don’t practice drinking water excessively.
  4. Water stored in clay pot for 2 hours is good to drink. Replace clay pot once in 6 months.
  5. Drink necessary water every time after using bathroom.
  6. SIP and drink water slowly ALL the time

 

III. Sleep and Rest (SPACE element):

  1. Don’t keep your head facing North direction while sleeping. Head facing East is best direction. Our Head is North Pole and BHoomi’s North pole repells and our Praana Shakthi will be drained by the time we get up next day. Thats why many feel tired, even after a proper 8 hour sleep.
  2. Don’t drink caffeine tea, coffee and alcohol or any artifical stored drinks. Coffee has a substance ‘Caffeine’ that has same Quality/Ingredient as a Hormone in our head (forgot the actual name of harmone, lets say ‘X’ harmone). The X harmone is secreted in our head only during Sunlight/brightness time whcihMAKES US ACTIVE/FRESH, and this hormone only circulates within the head and doesn’t pass through the blood below neck. The X harmone secretion causes activness in us, hence we feel brisk in sunshine morning. SO, during cloudy season, this harmone is not scereted since there is no sunshine. Hence, we feel drousy. SO, when one drinks coffee, this coffee has a susbtance ‘Caffeine’ which has same pattern as the harmone in our body. BUt the issue/problem here is, the Caffeine circulates through out the body below neck to leg and to head, where as the ‘X’ harmone circulates only within the head to neck. So, the body has never experienced X harmone below neck area. So when the body starts seeing the Caffeine (look alike X harmone) below neck, body considers it as a foreign particle and the body tries to fight with the Caffeine, so all blood is focussed in fighting Caffeine. Means our body is in PANIC mode, which makes it appear as ACTIVE temperory as we are feeling fresh when drinking coffee for the immediate moment but Really Tired after 1 hr. This is the reason for that. So, the post issue here is, inorder for the body to come back to normal from drinking 1 glass of coffee, body takes 4 hrs to recover. Meantime, the mistakes we do is, we eat food/breakfast/luch/dinner etc and snacks etc.. but body’s blood has not compleetd the job of recovering from Caffeine, so any food that is taken within this recovery period causes in-digestion, since there is no suffcinet blood circualtion in stomach area, rather blood circualtion is on fighting the Caffeine and causes disease. SO, SriKRishna Says DON”t drink Coffee means, it is for our body benefit. So lets follow.
  3. Herbal tea is good to take as it doesn’t have Caffeine.
  4. Don’t sleep on flat floor directly, as the Bhoomi’s shakthi will drain our body praana Shakthi.
  5. 100% Physically working persons in full day, should have a minimum of 8 hours of SLEEP and less rest.
  6. 100% Mentally working persons in ful day, should have a minimum of 8 hours of REST and less sleep.
  7. One should understand the difference between Sleep and Rest. Sleep is due to tiredness of body. Rest is dyanam for mind, sicne mentally we exhausted oursleves. Sicne, we are a mix of Physical and mental tiredness, appropriate combinations of sleep and rest needs to be considered.
  8. Depending upon one’s work (Physical or Mental or both), one should go to bed at 9:00pm. This will allow the body to decide sleep or rest whichever is necessary. One may not be able to sleep for many hours in night, so don’t worry. This means, you have worked menatlly more in the day and you need oly Rest (settlemnet of mind clustres). If you have worked more physically on the day, then automatically, you will sleep deep due to body tired. Many think, they have sleeping disorders, by mistaking sleep and rest, it depends up on what you did in the day time (physical work or mental work). If one has spent more time watching TV sports, say 5 hours from evening 6pm to 11pm, then your mental settlement is needed by body before you can get sleep, so you will not be able to sleep for few hours as body is doing Rest (mind steelement) may take hours in night without sleep. If physically & mentally spent on spiritual things in day time, then sleep and rest is peaceful. If not, we have to let the body take its own course before we can get sleep or rest.
  9. Brush your teeth before going to sleep at night.

 

IV. Breathing Air (AIR element):

  1. Keep your windows protected with nets to avoid mosquitoes & fresh air to flow inside.
  2. Keep exhaust in house for bad air to go outside.
  3. Proper ventilation (fresh air coming inside & bad air going outside) is necessary in all places.
  4. Through out sleep, the above adequate ventilation is necessary.
  5. If no cross ventilation is sleeping room, then the oxygen in the room will be used by one person for 30 minutes completely, the for remaing hours of sleep, the Oxygen stored inside the human body is used to survive rest of the sleep, which makes one completely tired/worn out in the morning though they slept for 8 hours. So, air circualtion (IN & OUT) is necessary through out sleep.

 

V. Work (FIRE element):

  1. Eat only when you are hungry.
  2. Eat as per your daily work &/or Work as per you eat.
  3. The temperature at home or any place should be maintained in such a way that the organs inside the body should not work excessively to maintain the body temperature of 37 ºC (98.6 ºF).
  4. Do simple EXERCISE daily for all of your JOINTS to work, since Fresh Blood is Generated by ROTATING the Joints like Leg jont, Leg knee joint, Hip Joint, SHoulder joint, Hand knee joint, Wrist joint and head neck joint.
  5. Like how Heart SWIRLS the Blood to flow, there is no internal organ to pump the LYMPH flow. Physical EXCERCISE is the only means for LYMPH to flow.

[The lymphatic system is, first of all, a part of the circulatory system, comprising a network of conduits called lymphatic vessels that carry a clear fluid called lymph (from Latin lympha “water goddess”) unidirectional toward the heart.

People who don’t do physical exercise will not have proper lymph flow, this results is many diseases. [Lymphatic organs play an important part in the immune system].

Finally, never worry or fear if you miss any steps, but try to follow as much as posible. Worry, Fear, Sadness, Anger causes imbalances inside body as well.

Dear Bhakta

Excellent summary.

Should be useful for lot of people.

However one clarification.. is it ok to hear Enpani audios while eating..?

Many of us don’t find enough time to hear 15 mins of enapani+ 15 mins of Vishnu Sahasranamam separately.. apart from daily nitya anushatanams.

Yes BhagavAta’s , the purpose of the ‘body’ is to utilize it as a ‘tool (karuvi) for BhagavAn SriKrishna, so ‘Athmas’ Ujjivanam happens. Adiyen’s life is also too tight in this Materialistic world. So depending up on time, adiyen hear Swami’s Pravachanams while having prasadham as well, either in laptop or cell phone or play in tv. Finally Thayar -Perumal happiness is important.
