Ghost

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha!

Please accept my humble namaskaarams, swamis.

This topic might probably be ridiculous/inappropriate to many of you. Nonetheless, adiyen always wanted to discuss this with devotees.

In the scriptures we many times come across descriptions of ghosts. In fact there are descriptions that they have one leg, and can’t be seen through eyes. So this means that they have a subtle material body.

Adiyen actually have had some experiences of the existence of such an entity in the past, particularly in the night time through some weird sounds, nightmares, etc. Anyway not experiencing such things nowadays.

So if at all we encounter some ghost/evil entity, how should we react? Even a great devotee like Nampaduvaan was almost attacked by such an entity. What to speak of us then?

(Kshamikkanum if adiyen committed apacharams)

adiyen dasan.

Sri:

Perumala experience pannirukkeno illayo, adiyoham (we) had experienced negative entities too.

Pozhudhu pogAdhavA “AbhichAra karmA” execute panniruppa.

Ramanujar too had expelled Ghost of a King’s daughter.

In fact Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy in one topic told, not all negative will affect us, only if time is bad it may impact.

If we are in sadhA Perumal dhyAnam, we can make Ghosts listen to Rama NAmA and let it attain Moksham.

PAvam adhu enna pannum? Udambu kidaiyAdhu, evlo kashta padradhO ?

We all are ghosts. We are in this body now. We will have out of body experience daily during dreams. That time we are ghosts only

We have three options
1. Call vazhi thunai Perumal
2. Call Narasimha Perumal
3. Tell RAMa nAmA

Adhu yenna RAma nAmA?

In tarpana mantram we see

Meaning theriyAdhu, but I think it talks about protecting us from negative entities & allow us to do karmA for our Pithrus, so it reaches them

Beautiful reply, swami. Dhanyosmi. In fact the fear about existence of such an entity is what made adiyen interested in going to lot of temples, which in turn made adiyen interested in Perumal.

One point which adiyen like to address is, devareer is saying

‘PAvam adhu enna pannum? Udambu kidaiyAdhu, evlo kashta padradhO ?’

This is right in one sense. But I have heard that they make unnecessary disturbances and haunt people very badly. In fact it is said that some people visit a temple in Gaya to get rid of such haunting experiences.

So eventhough the ghost may be in a dreadful situation, it is still causing a lot of trouble to some people.

adiyen.
