Adiyean Ramanuja Dhasan,
Swamy Namaskaram.
If Bhaghavan is said to not having the other two Guna/qualities- Rajasa or Thamasa, then during his Avatars, how he encounters the devils or Ratshasas to protect the Sadhus and to reinstate/install Dharma? I mean if one has to encounter another agressively then there should be a change in Guna – Rajasa or Aggression- so that it helps to encounter aggressively. Otherwise, if one has just Satva Ghuna , then he cannot encounter anybody aggressively.

Though Bhaghavan can do this by his Sankalpam from His Abode, what happens during His Avatar ? He has to exhibit this Rajasa ghuna to conquer the bad forces.

Also, we understand from Ramayana and Mahabharatha that there are many instances where both Rama and Krishna got angers while encountering devils or so-called bad forces/ Raatshasas or wile speaking with Sisubala/ Duriyodhana or even agaist Bishma etc.
Thanks
Adiyean,
Srinivasan

Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha

Dasan,
Adiyen would reflect the answer of Swami Thirukkudanthai Andavan in Srimad Ramayanam.

SriRam used to call the Guna “anger” and use it for fighting. Not sure if my English is making sense.

Kovathathai Vara vazhichukardhu. As if we are angry.

Eg: Let’s say I want to be angry on my baby for some mischeif, I create angry faces but do not really mean it.

Like that SriRam called the GunAs but he is not subject to Guna.

We control the anger and anger should not control us.

Eg: Sorry I slapped you in anger. It means anger controlled us.

If anything wrong please forgive

Hare Krishna! Aneka kodi Namaskaram!

Adiyen would like to make a correction here. Bhagavan is ‘Nirguna’ that means does not have any of the 3 gunas. Satva guna is (only) superior (to the other 2 gunas) in this world, yet it creates binding on happiness and knowledge. Only conditioned souls (Jivas) are under the control of 3 gunas.

Bhagavad Gita 14.6 O sinless one, the mode of goodness, being purer than the others, is illuminating, and it frees one from all sinful reactions. Those situated in that mode become conditioned by a sense of happiness and knowledge.

Lord Vishnu is adhibadhi of ‘satva’ guna and that does not mean that he is of ‘satva’ guna. Srila Prabhupad gives an example – A king who visits / walks into a prison, does not come under the rules of the prison for he is the king.

Please correct if there is any misunderstanding.
