Difference between Jiva and Athman?

Sri:
Adiyen have seen this term being used interchangeably. JeevAthman. Can there be Athman without Jiva? What is Prajna (Pragnya)?

Adiyen have listened several times Athman knows self even while at mad state. Even after coma Athman asks “who am I” ,or “where am I”? What about during coma?

Where does this state go during sushupthi (deep sleep state)? Does Athman not realize feeling of I ? Or it realises but we don’t know as it’s not communicated to us?

For eg: Coma or deep meditation

Saying pragnya has more importance than athman is even a valid statement? It sounds more logical though

What’s the point of having stale Athman without even knowing such an existence?

The swayam Prakashan of Athman diminishes during such states or what?

Adiyen’s opinion and approach towards such questions: As we know, there are 2 kinds of body. Gross (physical) and subtle (mind). Subtle body can understand the gross body but the other way is not possible. And Aatma is subtler than the mind itself. Now, how can the mind understand ‘Aatma’ ? It is not possible. Its only mind’s resistance to the surrender that it raises such questions (purely Adiyen’s opinion). So we surrender to the lord with the faith that the next life will be better than the present one. The more we surrender, the less the questions.

Please correct if there is any misunderstanding.

Beautiful answer. Same as Krishna Premi Anna said “Manasaala paaka mudiyAdhu, manasu Adangina thaan paaka mudiyum”.

Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 1 Chap 3 Verse 33 — Whenever a person experiences, by self-realization, that both the gross and subtle bodies have nothing to do with the pure self, at that time he sees himself as well as the Lord.
