Srimate Ramanujaye Namaha!

Namaskaaram,

Enpani #1762 was beautiful to  hear as Swamy brought out the different dharma exhibited by different devotees in Ramayana when Lord Rama exiled to forest. This shows how sastra has to be applied according to time place and circumstances and also how the mood of each devotee is different and cannot be compared/judged materially Each one is a sweet and there is no comparison of which is sweetest as all are different shades of sweetness.

Each point is reflecting a particular aspect of vaishanava quality.

Dasharatha Maharaja did not go to forest because of Sense of duty towards nation – seeing that as a service to the Lord. – Kshatriya dharmam.

Kousalya and Sumitra could not go to forest with Lord Rama – because they have to take care of their husband – stree Dharmam.

Sita went to forest with Lord Rama to serve her pathi – Stree dharmam

Lakshmanan’s main mission in life and reason for avataram was to serve Lord Rama so he went to forest.- Kainkaryam to Lord.

His wife Urmila knew this and did not want to hinder Lakshamanas’s service to Lord Rama, so she did not accompany Lakshmana. (This seems very exalted to me.. as many would not have understood her rightly) – sacrificing one’s service to help others serve better.

Bharata tried to bring Lord Rama back, as there was no king to rule but was ordered by Rama to rule on his behalf- dharma of serving on behalf of the Lord.

Shatrugna was adiyar’s adiyar and was serving only Bharata so he remained with Bharata- dharma of serving Lord’s devotees.

Finally swami concludes that instead of worrying if what others did is correct we should introspect ourselves if we are on the right path.

Adiyen
