Creation of initial Devas and Asuras – was it based on Karma? Five elements and aatmas

Swamy,

Namaskaaram.

We note Bhagawan did consider having good people and bad people as necessary to run the world and made creation accordingly. My humble question is whether Karma was the basis by which certain jeeva atmas (aanadhi) got in as Devas and others as Asuras? Or was it just creation of Certain Devas and Asuras done arbitrarily ?

I guess it has to be linked with karmas only.

Also, we note punjai aathmas. Is that, for example, mountains are made up of punjai aathmas or we have to take mountains as mountains only (mountains are made of stones and jeeva aathmas can remain as stones – in fact that is how it was initially – and Bhagawan made the aatma in stone form to assume body, do devotion and get back to him). I mean whether five elements itself are made of aathmas ?

Apologize upfront as I am ignorant.

Please clarify.

Srimate Raamanujaye Namaha,

Swami for the first part it cannot be arbitrary, it is said it is based on one’s karma and desires.

For the second part there is a detailed discussion in an old thread.

Enpanifan Swamy,

Thanks for the clarification.

When we see nature – mountains, rivers, we have to associate them with respective Devatha and Devathas are Devathas due to Karma palan.

Is river – water also made of various punjai aathmas (mountains are so) or is a manifestation of a Devatha?

Doubts arise when people say generally Bhagawan created people and nature (like Kadal, malai, etc). While people are born due to Karma, so also the nature – components of nature are also aatmas – they are so due to previous Karma.

Devathas are positions, being alloted to special jeevathmas and time bound. Is Ganga, the river demi God is a position, which is time bound and could be represented by different eligible jeevathmas in different time periods?

Dhanyosmi.

Srimate Raamaanujaye Namaha

I think  like how apart from ourselves there are multiple number of infinite souls inside our body same will be applicable to nature – rivers mountains etc.

Regarding the question in the last para.I think we cannot have a general answer perhaps.. Some cases are positions and some are eternally the same person.( I vaguely remember hearing that Ganges exist in Spiritual world and was brought to earth. So existence in spiritual world would mean eternally the same person.)

But not sure of other examples.. but nevertheless as long as we are respectful to them , even if we don’t understand if it is position or eternally the same person, we would be pleasing Krishna
