Cause of suffering

Hello swamy,

We suffer because of the papam that we have been doing for many janmas. But how do we know what papam  we did (either in the current janma or previous janma) that is causing this suffering? Knowing it would help us avoid doing it again.

Adien.

Since the sastras have listed papa karma, we can easily be aware of them avoid them. If we start remembering our previous papam, considering the countless births, these memories themselves would be hell.

Agreed Swami 🙂

Swamy, I would like to know if a person who is born with disabilities, he suffers for sure. But the person who observes such a disability is also suffering with a different kind of pain. A lot of negativity pops in. A lot of question comes to mind. I feel observing people suffer is itself a consequence of papa karma. Am i right Swamy? Please correct me if wrong.

Thank you.

Adiyean Ramanuja Dhasan!

Swami, why Bhagwan has to create the two so-called notorious qualities (Raajasa and Thaamasa) that is the root cause of all our problems and hence the many many Jenmaas to nullify those sins!!

Though Aathmaans are Swathathras, they cannnot create these two qualities in them as they do not have such Power and Ghanas with them.

Athmas are Parathanthran. Adimai (seevant) to Vishnu. From this Dharma Sandheha forum adiyen learned that

Raajasaa & Thaamasa are part of Leela vibhuthi an ingredient to play.

So was born lingapuraanam.

Srimatae Ramanujaya Namaha,

Komal swamy and Vikram swamy,

Adiyen Dasanudasan.

With Acharyar Krupai and Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Anugraham, adiyen would like to share the overwhelming subject what adiyen understood from Upanyasams and Enpani audios. Hope this helps.

As how the Athman along with the Sookshma shareeram is Anaadhi, this Pancha bootha Prakrithi (leela vibhoothi or samsaram) with Rajasik/Tamasik gunas is also Anaadhi. We cannot do anything about it, but we can come out of this Prakrithi with Acharyar Krupai/BhagavAn’s grace.

Both Rajasik and Tamasik gunas are also necessary in some amount to satisfy our basic needs as long as the BaddhaAthman (Athman+Sookshma shareeram) are inside the pancha bootha Sthoola shareeram. Like Tamasik guna is needed for us to have a proper sleep and Rajasik guna is needed for us to do good actions/activity, Shathriyas needed rajasik nature to protect the country. Also rajasik nature helps us to quickly react and enlighten those people who talk against vedas/shastras etc..

The problem arises only when both of these two gunas are excessive than the needs and not under control. Like too much tamasik guna will lead to oversleep, ignorance, avidhya and too much of rajasik guna in combination with vipareetha vaasanai (bad behaviour from Anaadhi kaalam) will lead to Ahambhavam/Garvam and will result in verbal/physical abuse to others. So improving Saathvik guna is the key which implicitly improves our BhagavAt Vishaya GyanAm as long as we are in this Samsaram, which explicitly also helps us to keep the rajasik/tamasik gunas under control.

=================

As far as why BhagavAn (Sriman NarayanAn the SUPREME) puts us in this Samsaram which has both notorious Rajasik and Tamasik gunas is to HELP US (ALL the BaddhaAthmas including the JeevaAthmas in Deva bodies like Brahma, Shiva, Indra etc.. and other BhaddhaAthmas like us in human bodies stuck-up different faiths in this Earth) to get rid of our so called “Anaadhi kaala vipareetha vaasanai/karmas”, so that we all will learn , who we are, what we are, whose property we are, what we should focus to do and what not to focus. If there is NO SUFFERING, then we will keep thinking about the materialistic pleasures, Or think about attaining or capturing other lokams like Brahma lokam, Shiva lokam, Indra lokam etc with Tapas valimai, Or think about becoming the next Brahma or Shiva or Indra when the current BaddhaAthman in the present Brahma body or Shiva body or Indra body completes their term based on their karmas and thrown back to Bhoolokam (Earth). If BhagavAn doesn’t create this notorious samsaram, then we (ALL BhaddhaAthmas) keep enjoying ourselves without involvement of BhagavAn (no Swaroopa Gyanam as I’m YOUR Sotthu (property) and we will not know that we are actually Parathanthran (subservient to BhagavAn who is the ONLY SWATHANTRAN). It is suffocating to understand Perumal’s concept during suffering, but it is the truth. This is what adiyen understood from upanyasams as the concept adopted by BhagavAn to HELP US (not to think this Leela Vibhoothi is good), so we don’t take another Janma and henceforth we could reach our true destination SriVaikuntam (Nithya Kainkaryam to BhagavAn and ALL).

Eventhough BhagavAn already knows that we are weak (pulan adakkam illathavarkal), when put in this Samsaram, we will definitely make mistakes and commit sins, HE still INTENTIONALLY puts us in this Samsaram by providing Sthoola Shareeram based on HIS pure KarunAi Ullam. This is like a Mother telling her child to be inside the home, till she got out for grocery shopping and come back. At the same time, mother is telling the child that there are lot of chocolates in the cabinet and the cabinet is not locked. So till I come back, you shouldn’t eat it. But if you eat it, I will scold you and punish you. This nature (Kalyana gunam) of BhagavAn is called “Nigrahamum Anugrahathin Seikayae” (Punishment is Blessing in Disguise). However, we don’t need to worry about it, since we ALL (Prapannas or Future Prapannas) have Swami Ramanujar who will PROTECT us from this samsaram by providing his THIRUVADI, so we travel in the correct path. Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami ThiruvAdigalaey Sharanam.

Example: Water itself is good, if it is used at the right place and utilized in a optimum way. But if water goes inside our ears, even-though it’s a small amount, it irriates and can cause ear infection. Water inside our ears could be an accident or our intentional carelessness. We try different methods to remove water by ourself, but in vain after multiple tries. Finally, we give-up and surrender and look for a real solution. This is when an Expert Mother removes the water from the ears by pouring more excessive water inside the ears and quickly tilts the head and pull the ears and this removes the whole water including the water that was originally present. This will be painful for some child and some child may take it easy, but it is a neccessary task to help the child from further damage. Then the Mother advises the child to be careful while bathing, by telling not to think something else and bath. Pay attention to what you are doing. The problem is resolved for good, if the child follows, though Mother is always the saviour.

Disclaimer: please DON’T try this water pouring technique at home unless you are an expert. Get with appropriate person to remove water from ears, if different method is applicable.

=====================

In the above example, use “Rajasik/Tamasik” gunas in place of Water. Ear is the Saathvik Atham excluding the sookshma shareeram, where water should not be present, since Sookshma shareeram is the one where all the 3 gunas are deposited (Anaadhi kaala Padimangal). “ear infection” is the BaddhaAthman immersed in Avidhya/Agyanam. “accident or our intentional carelessness” are the mistakes we commit unknowingly or knowlingly. “try different methods” is going to all places (demi-gods like Brahma, Shiva etc..) except BhagavAn Sriman Narayanan to get the remedy (Yetthai thinnaal pittham theliyum). “remove water by ourself” is Bhakti yoga and/or creating our own sampradayam which is not prescribed in shastras. “in vain” is we couldn’t remove karmas/vipareetha vaasanai by ourselves and couldn’t remove even with the help of demi-gods, since they themselves have the vipareetha vaasanas. “multiple tries” is the countless births we take by repeating same mistakes. “Finally we give-up and surrender” is SHARANAM to BhagavAn means “AnanyaGadhitvAm” (no other place to go except BhagavAn lotus feet as adiyen realize as YOUR sotthu/property ONLY and not a property of Demi-God and not a property of anyone else) and “AaKinchanyAm” (I donot even have a Kinchit effort or single solution to reach Your Lotus Feet/Moksham/SriVaikuntam/ParamaPadham). “Expert Mother” is the BhagavAn. “pouring excessive water” is intentionally putting the Athman in this huge Samsaram/Pancha bootham/Prakrithi full of vipareetha Rajasik/Tamasik gunas. “tilts the head” is the final birth that we take. “removes the whole water” is to eradicate the Anaadhi kaala vipareetha vaasanai by Acharyar ThiruvAdi sambantham. “painful” is the suffering that we undergo in the birth due to our prarabhta karma (paapam) as we couldn’t tolerate. “take it easy” is the matured state of an Athman in this Leela viboothi who still feels the pain, but tolerates/understands that BhagavAn is doing this rigorous course to help us to get rid of the Anaadhi kaala vipareetha vaasanai/karmas.

“neccessary task” is putting us in this notorious samsaram intentionally. “further damage” is the no Swaroopa Gyanam as I’m Perumal Sotthu. “Mother advises” is the Avathara’s that BhagavAn takes to show how we should follow the shastras like how SriRama showed us how to follow the Do’ and Don’ts, so moving forward after prapatti, we should proprely utilize the Aagami karma (further actions) . “be careful” is to avoid the bad company (dhushta savakaasam praana sankatam). “bathing” is while we are minkling with others. “don’t think something else” is a prapannan duty to focus only on the “Oran Vazhi Guru Paramparai” poorvAcharyar’s teachings as reinstated by Swami Ramanujar which is visible to us by Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami’s Upanyasam and Aasirvaadham (example, SriRama praying to Shiva is not in Valmiki Ramayanam which is the original source, then yes we (prapannan and Future prapannan) agree inorder to pay Respect to our PoorvAcharyars teachings). “Pay attention” is to keep the focus only on Acharyar ThiruvAdi. “child follows” is kainkaryam (serving to BhagavAn/Thayar/Alwar/Acharyar/Bhagavata not as a means to Moksham), since “saviour” is still the Mother BhagavAn (Thannakkaeyaga Yenai Kollum Ithaey).

================

We all are in the same boat and has expierenced or experiencing “birth, suffering, disease, old age, rebirth” ,which is a delicate subject and difficult to digest, so let’s leave this to BhagavAn and let’s ALL focus on Swami Ramanujar ThiruvAdi, HIS WORKS , Acharyar SriSookthikal etc…with Yatha Shakthi (whichever is possible based on our capacity and whereever varna/kulam we are) and get out of this cycle from this current birth. As how Swami Ramanujar has showered HIS Grace (PARAGATHA SWIKARYAM) upon us without any of our efforts, we prapannan should also remember that Swami Ramanujar can recommend anyone to SriPerumal for Moksham (baktha or Abaktha, Gyani or Agyani, UlNaadu or VeliNaadu, Bhoolokam or VetruUlagam , Sentient or Insentient) in this same birth with HIS HOLY KRUPA KATAKSHAM as we all know from Swami’s Upanyasam that Swami Ramanujar is the only Acharyar who is in-charge for both Leela Vibhoothi and Nithya Vibhoothi as named by BhagavAn NamPerumAl (SriRama) as “UDAYAVAR ((Upaya (both) Viboothi Nayagan))”. For BhagavAn happiness, in rest of this life, lets keep chanting or murmuring “SRIMATAE RAMANUJAYA NAMAHA” or any names of Swami (as in Ramanuja Ashtothra Statha Naama stotram by Swami Vaduga Nambi) anywhere-anytime in mind, there is no RESTRICTION for anyone. By the time, BhagavAn reviews our karmas, we ALL will be sitting on BhagavAn’s OoruUgnam (ThiruThodaigal or lap) in SriVainkutam from this current birth within a much lesser time than a blink of an eye because of Swami Ramanujar Grace and continue the Bhagavat/Bhagavata/Acharyar Kainkaryam in SriVaikuntam. This will be a puzzle for BhagavAn and let HIM keep thinking how we came to SriVaikuntam, like how we are scratching our head thinking about HIS creation and our karmas….

However, BhagavAn is the one who gave Alwar & Acharyar to uplift us. We (all prapannans and future prapannans including in other lokams) have Swami Ramanujar Krupai which is more than enough for us to Cherish with, instead of focusing on the odds (our past paapams and Janmas).

Very well described Swamin. While we hear a lot of Upanysams of Sri Velukkudi Swami, hearing it from a person, who is so involved in these Upanyasams and preachings, brings tears in the eyes, as how just by listening and following these things, that our Acharyas have created and left for us, as in Swami’s words, the Wealth that our ancestors have left, we can attain Moksha.. Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha. Acharyan Tiruvadigale Saranam!!
