Namaskaram swamy.

After the soul is departed, during initial 13 days, some people do bhajan / nama sankeerthanam / seva kalam(?), for the departed soul. In some cases, atma might have attained motcham and other cases it is bound to come back after some time.

Do these bhajan etc., have on any effect on the departed soul, if yes, what are the effects such as spiritual etc.,?. (in both cases of the soul which attained motcham and to take rebirth)

Swamy,

This question has come in various & shapes and sizes (flavours) even in Dharma Sandeha & outside.

Where does the shraddham go for a soul that reached Moksham?

Based on Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy’s explanation from my memory , “It can reach anyone in Pitrus so we should continue our rituals without worrying about departed soul status”

In fact it was answered in some EnPaNi audio if am not wrong.

During AmavAsya Tarpanam we do nyatha & anyatha (known & unknown I guess) pitrus so any pitru above & beyond who does not fit into immediate 3 grandfathers

In fact adiyen don’t know 3rd gen mother side grandfather so using Sakshaat Narayana & Lakshmi as couple.

Not sure if it’s applicable to reborn souls as gothram etc will change. Anyway that should not be our worry. This is my understanding.

Any mistake please forgive
