Dear Velukkudi Swamy

Namaskaram,

I came across in certain websites where they state amla(nellikai) must be avoided on tuesday, friday, sunday, 1st, 6th, 7th, 9th, amavasai, pournami, sankranti days..the list differs form website to website..

I am a bit confused. Can you clarify kindly what is the actual days to avoid amla if any?

Also if dwadasi happens to be in this list , is there an exception?

Thank you

regards

Srimatae Ramanujaya Namaha,

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Guruvae Namaha,

Dear Bhakta,

Adiyen has also heard that, on the days that Alma (Indian Goosberry) can be consumed, it should not be consumed anytime later after noon. Only during morning to before noon consumption is ok.

Honestly, adiyen don’t know the exact reason, but some say Alma is Kulurchi to human body based on the “Kapa, Pittha,  Vaatha” analysis by Ayurveda doctors. So later afternoon, evening is avoided for consumption.
