BharathAzhwan said “It’s because of me my mother took that approach”

Ideally, Sri VaishNavam is all about taking other’s blame onto themselves

While “new age” parties keep blaming us! WoW what a transformation!!! 👏👏👏

What has a poor Cow to do with all the qualities?

Over thousands of thousands of cows, bulls, and buffaloes are slaughtered in our neighbouring state (Kerala) for food. They are transported from various states (including Tamil Nadu) in a very appalling environment to be brutally killed finally.

In fact, why only Cow? It is too politicized now. I have come across people who claim only Cow is holy but buffaloes are cursed beings.

Every living being is holy and has the right to live and die a natural death, but for something that can harm us.

If we open up our viewpoint to anyone, then people make us shut up by saying “you don’t decide what should be on my plate”.

Sometimes I am not able to help but get a feeling that all our so-called dharma sastras are just fabled stories just to keep our hopes alive, until we survive, and pass them to the next generation.

If we discuss these within the sampradAyikas, after all the back-and-forth arguments, the final say would be “பகவானுடைய கணக்கு நமக்கு புரியாது”.

No point in vichAram!!

The reason you are getting this feeling is probably due to the influence of the people you interact in your daily life. Maybe you are focussing too much on ‘resisting the negative ideology’ than on ‘actually focussing on the positive (i.e., things like reading/listening to our sath sampradhAya vishayams). We should always give the primary importance to latter.

True, this is a perturbation but unable to conquer it sometimes.

Adiyen agrees to this extent that there is no point in worrying about something that is not in our control, but this wisdom doesn’t stay with us all the time. Emotions take over!!

Swamy,

Every living being is holy but a dog cannot be compared to a cow, because, cow is the most holiest. Cow is the most sattvika animal.

Killing a cow = Brahmahathi dosha.

33 crore devatas are present in it. Even cow’s urine and dung are some of the purest things which can clean anything impure. Even Rama used cow dung to pure him. Krishna is know as gopala , govinda because of his love towards cow.

Circumbulating a cow = circumbulating whole world

cow = vedas = Thulasi

The matter of Cow is being politicized today, because of cow eaters. Why can’t they leave cow meat, considering the feeling of fellow citizens. There are many sources to eat. Why only cow meat ????

India is being called a secular nation. What is the meaning of secular ?? Following their religion freely and respecting others feeling. Why can’t some people respect other’s feeling in this so called secular nation ?
Is India really secular ??

It is said,

But today, government had failed to protect those two.

Sundara RamAnuja Dasa Swami,

Adiyen agrees cow is holy. I said it from the perspective of killing a living being whether a cow or a dog — pain, tears, and fear are the same.

At the time of undergoing brutal slaughter, I am not sure if we can distinguish between a cow and a dog. In Nagaland, dogs are brutally killed for meat.

I have come across so many east Indians (WB and Odisha), who are unable to tolerate killing cows but do not have any guilt about killing buffaloes and goats (herds of such animals) in the name of sacrifice. Some of them go to the extent of saying that buffaloes are a form of Mahishasura; hence nothing wrong with killing them.

I think we must set the bar high by stating “ahimsa paramo dharma:”, instead of limiting ourselves to only cows.

Please clarify.

Sundara RamAnuja Dasa Swami, agreed. Cow is holy. Every other animal is has right to live.

Adiyen usually see, size matters.

If size is big we voice out. For smaller sized being we don’t care.

Jeeva KAruNyam applies for every being. While we are okay to kill musquitoes, cockroaches & rate How come?

What kind of perspective is this Vikram Swami?? Then according to you, killing a Camel and Horse is an even more heinous crime than killing a cow??

True! But nobody (at least in our country by and large) does this act to satisfy their palate, rather to mitigate the spread of unnecessary diseases.

Does that still make the act right? Not at all!! Our ‘okay’ mindset to killing these insects does not make the act right. Perhaps, we are failing to (or unable to) control their spread at home.

If this is the case with insects, then killing innocent animals to satisfy tastebuds (not even for our own survival) cannot be categorized as No. 1: Horse, No. 2: Camel, No. 3: Cow, and so on…

The size of the body does not matter but the presence of bhagawan as antaryAmi does.
