Vinoth swamy,

Sastram teaches that dharma has to be protected; those who follow dharma have to be protected, because that the way people for generations after generations can progress from a maoral life to religious life to spiritual life to devotioanl life and eventually go back to Vaikuntha.

If the principle is ‘protect the weak’, then Ravana, Kamsa and Duryodhana should have been protected at their respective last moment. But they were punished, becasuse there were adharmic, they were troubling the dharmic, and that had to be stopped.

So, the principle to follow is protect dharma, those who follow dharma, those who serve those who follow dharma.

Srimate Ramanujaye Namaha,

Vinodh swamy, sastras say to protect women, children and old people..is your question referring to this?

The reason being they need protection as they are weak in mind and bodily strength ( in general, there are exceptions)and so Perumaal recommends to offer protection to them, so they can advance in their service to Lord and move closer to him..without distractions and problems of this material world.

Many times when we rephrase the questions answers can be found..

“Doesn’t weak make the strength of the pack vulnerable”
This part is not clear..vulnerable to whom? If we leave the weaker sections unprotected and remain strong where will we head to and what will we do? What is the goal to remain as a strong pack?
These questions may help to answer the last part.

We should define the goal..then the questions can be discussed..
The goal is every soul should progress peacefully in his journey towards Perumaal and Perumaal should be please by our action..

Once this is clear then questions may be different.

Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha

Srimathe Sri Varaha Mahadesikaya Namaha

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy Thiruvadigaley Sharanam

Sri:

Weak means women and children to be protected. It means “DEPENDANCY” people need to be protected. We should not let free the dependant people.

NAMBI VANDHAVANGALA YEMATHA KUDATHU

SriRam got angry on Vali because he did not forgive Surgiva even after Sharanagathi.

This is the only reason protection of WEAK becomes a DHARMAM

Weak makes a pack vulnerable?

All the new born babies are weak and requires protection. Do they make the pack vulernable?

Even animals save their new born babies. Why not humans?

It is our duty to protect the weak and vulnerable

KshatriyAs should protect BrahmanAs.

SriRam protected Vishwamitra.

Was Vishwamitra weak?

Protection is the Dharmam.
