Why character getting spoiled even after so many spiritual connections?

Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha

We have mahan’s dharisanams. We have many periyavaal’s upanyasams. Still our character getting spoiled which is utmost important in our sampradhayam

1. Does it mean our Karma is so strong?
2. Our indriyams can easily defeat us?
3. Or we are yet to get full anugraham of our Acharyas and Mahaans ?

Our Swami says in a upanyasam that when hiranyakasibu, when asks bakhta prahalad maharaj, why are you always chanting hari’s name ? sri prahlad says, the one who makes you ask this question from inside, is the one who makes me chant his name always…

likewise..

Oru pakkam, Vikram swami yai vittu kelvigalai ketka vaikiraar…inoru pakkam, Kongilpiratti-yai vittu, “Guna” meter pottu, badil solvathai, thadukirar… enne namathu Sri Krishnarin leelai ?

@Kongilpiratti – Antha “Guna” meter ungal kandupidippa ? illai adhuvum from swami’s ‘en pani’ ? Enendraal, antha meter ungal kandupidippu endral, antha meter-ke oru meter thevai padukirathu 🙂 🙂 🙂

@Vikram swami – Please do not mistake Adiyen in saying that, all the questions are answered in “Bhagavad Gita”, request Swami to please read whenever Swami gets a chance. Adiyen, Guna meteridam, saranadaigirom !!!

Sri:
Meter matter is super Swami ☺?
Ideally it’s not advisable to measure other’s gunAs. We are not supposed to do it. Bhagavan will take care. We shall measure only our gunAs.

No mistake adiyen. When we ask something people used to say “Everything is mentioned in Vedas. ”

Where it is?
“Many of branches are lost”

Ok can you please answer my question?
“Please go read veda”

Yes but my intelligence level is not mapped to read and digest. Let me question, create the interest then read that particular chapter.

Adiyen still confused with word “Akarmani” in Srimad Bhagavath Gita even after Velukkudi Swamy’s tremendous explanation.

We need eminent people to explain than to self understand. That’s why am here.

Koti Namaskarams of Daasanu Daasan Srinivasan Pranesh.

Three things are very essential in the path of Moksha. Gnana, Bakthi and Vairagyam.

These three goes hand in hand.

The ultimate Gnana is given by Brahma-Kita Nyaya. Right from Chaturmuka Brahma to Kitam (worms), all are functional only because of presence of Lord Sriman Narayana as Antaryami.

Real Bakthi (Complete Nishkamya Bakthi) starts at the saturation point of Gnana, though it’s practised from beginning. Through Gnana, one understands the supremacy of Lord Sriman Narayana and through Bakthi, one puts it into practise and enjoys bliss. What is the use of Gnana without Bakthi?

What is Vairagyam?

Vairagyam is Viragam. Ragam means desire. Viragam means to cut desires.

When one develops Gnana and Bakthi, Viragam also develops parallely.

If one attains Viragam and makes his goal firm towards Moksha, no one can spoil him by the grace of Acharyar and Lord Sriman Narayana.

Now, the challenge is to achieve Viragam.

Is it possible that a human can be desireless?

In Tiruppavai, Andal says, “Mattrai nam Kamangal Matrelorempavai”.

The nature of humans is to be with desires. So, change the direction of our desires Kanna. May we desire for you and your Vaikunta Vaasam.

When above reach their saturation point, complete surrender as per Gita is possible.

Here is the trick of our Acharyas. If you surrender you get Moksha may look simple in words. But, surrender is not achievable without Vedanta Gnana and Bakthi. So, everything gets fulfilled in one word, surrender.

If a person completely surrenders, God takes the responsibility of every minute of a devotee’s life and the devotee is freed from Sanchita Karma. So, God Himself will ensure that the devotee is not spoiled by Prarabdha Karma. By virtue of his nature, devotee won’t accumulate Agami Karma. However, if a devotee accumulates due to lack of awareness or forced circumstances, that will be separately accounted by God. At the time of departure of surrendered devotee to Vaikuntam through Archiradi Marga, his good deeds are given to people who were favorable to him in life and bad deeds are shared to those who did Bagavata Apacharam.

When a devotee surrenders, his Indriyas will also be focused on God and worldly objects cannot show their strength on Indriyas.

Acharya and God’s grace are also complete (full).

Hence, it’s impossible that a surrendered devotee spoils.

Perfect answer swami!!! Satva guna itself creates binding in this world through ‘knowledge’ (Bhagavad Gita 14.6). So the ‘knowledge’ has to get transformed into ‘Bakti’ otherwise, it would be a binding created by Satva guna. Knowledge in the form of ‘Bakti’ is probably referred as ‘suttha satva’.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yes. Perfectly agreed that we shall ensure that our Sattva Guna itself should not become a hurdle to our Moksha. So, Sattva Guna should also be exhibited carefully without binding.

Suddha Sattva is referred to attribute of Lord Sriman Narayana. I remember that in one of Enpani speeches, Shri Velukkudi Swamy has elaborated that Sattva Guna we possess is that of one of three natures of Prakriti, whereas Sattvikam of God is different from that of prakritik nature.

Attributes of a Jiva are of prakrita nature while we live in this world. Attributes of Lord Sriman Narayana are of aprakrita nature. His attributes or Kalyana Gunangal are infinite in numbers. He Himself knows them.

Purusha Suktam says, “Pathosya vishva boothaani tripathasyam rytm divi”.

Whatever appeared as creation and known to us elaborates only 1/4th of His glory. Remaining 3/4th remains with Himself in heaven.”

“His attributes or Kalyana Gunangal are infinite in numbers. He Himself knows them” – Actually Perumal does not know.

Swamy Parashara Bhattar states (As per remembrance):
Perumal has one kurai fault.

That is, he does not know the end of his knowledge.

The explanatory:
Not knowing of something which does not exist cannot be lack of Intelligence.

That is
* There is no aakaasha thaamarai
* There is no kudhirai kombu

So not knowing a limit which does not exist cannot be termed as real fault.

Aneka Koti Namaskarams Swamy

“His attributes or Kalyana Gunangal are infinite in numbers. He Himself knows them” – Actually Perumal does not know.

Swamy. Everything should not be debated in it’s literal sense.

For example, Appar says, “Asai arumingal asai arumingal Isanodayinum asai arumingal”.

If you take it in literal sense, it says we should not have desire for God. If we don’t have desire on even God, then what is the purpose of life?

Nayanmar makes the point that desires should be cut and he uses strong words to stress that.

If everything is taken in literal sense, it will lead to mis-interpretations, debates and unwanted questions.

Similarly the quote above, given by you, may be to show that God’s attributes are limitless and infinite.

When Arjuna asked to show Vishwaroopa Darshanam, Krishna shown it. It was infinite to Arjuna but not to Krishna. Krishna didn’t say, “Sorry Arjuna. I am infinite and don’t know about myself completely to show you.”

Krishna shown to Arjuna because Krishna knows Himself.

So, when we speak about infinity, there are two aspects. Infinity is inability to count by us. But, for Lord, nothing is infinite.

The statement that Perumal Himself don’t know should be taken as Varnanai of His limitless attributes.

If we take in literal sense that Perumal is not completely aware of His attributes, then Perumal cannot be accepted as Omniscient, as He has something beyond His understanding. Isn’t it?

But, Vedas out and out states that Perumal is omniscient and defectless. Hence, Doshas resulting from our lack of understanding and infinity to us cannot be loaded on Perumal.

Can we prove that Perumal is omniscient (100% knowledgeable) after stating that there is something beyond His understanding?

It becomes very difficult to speak truths when the statements are covered with name of Acharyas. That gives a feeling of not to involve into discussions, which may be a dis-respect to Acharyas.

However, everything should not be taken in literal sense for debates is Adiyen’s opinion.

Thavariruppin Mannikkavum.

May I be forgiven by Lord Sriman Narayana.

Hare Krishna.

Aneha koti namaskaram swami.

@Vikram Swami, debates and discussions are good but the objective should not be to drag it to show who has more knowledge but to accept the fact or answer and move on.

For ex. ‘Anger and karma’ Q that Adiyen raised, even after seeing swami’s multiple responses, Adiyen’s mind says ‘go ahead and expand the discussion into further dimensions’ because it is not ready to accept the fact. But we need to be cautious and not pamper the mind to do that but should try to be ‘honest’ and ask it back ‘ Did you not get the answer to the question you raised’ ? Firmly, and it will accept at some point.

Please note, this is not to discourage the discussion or to force one to accept the answer, but only sharing the experience. Of course, in the process of trying to come up with different answers, we also learn, but should not drag it beyond what it is worth for.

Sarvam Sri Krishnaarpanamastu.

Devarir adiyenai Shamikkanum. Perhaps what Adiyen tried to convey was mis understood.

Healthy debates and discussions are always welcome. However, sometimes, Acharyar might have told in some context and we might have understood in some other way.

When that becomes a topic of discussion in their literal understanding, especially with quotes and references from Acharyas, Adiyen get a feel of guilt myself and start thinking that, “Am I really capable of analyzing an Acharya’s statement? Is it not disrespecting an Acharyar as I am still budding?”, may the Acharyar belong to whatever Sampardayam.

Hence, Adiyen is bit reluctant to comfortably involve in discussions in such situations. However, that is not to find fault with others and as Devarir rightly said, it is not mandatory to provide an answer to all questions.

I could understand Devarir’s good intention of spreading scriptures and enjoy reading posts. Adiyen will also try to take part in discussions, with careful approach of not causing any disrespect to any of our Acharyas.

Aneha koti namaskaram swamis! Shamikkanam Swamis, for any misunderstanding / misinterpretation.

‘Not answering and trying to end the discussion’ is also an answer, how ? will leave it to devareer to explore. The world is a ‘mirror’ for every Jiva so the agreements and disagreements with the world (outside) is a ‘reflection’ of the agreements and disagreements (inside).

We can continue the discussion to ‘any extent’ possible swami but that requires one to set aside the ’emotions’ completely otherwise the answer may inadvertently hurt, which is the reason why, Adiyen asked for permission from swami to continue the discussion for one another Q. For this discussion, Adiyen missed out to ask, which is also purely a reflection of Adiyen’s ahankaram. If Adiyen would have asked such permission here, the choice would have been with Swami whether to continue the discussion or not as it ‘still’ rests with Swami for the ‘other’ question.

Unfortunately devareer stand is, unless there is acceptance, the discussion has to continue. And the acceptance can not be drawn through general discussion, since 2 specific ‘minds’ are involved. So we need to get ‘direct’ and it is dangerous unless both the ends are ‘seasoned’ to carry over the discussion.

A senior devotee says there are 3 parts involved in judging something as ‘right’ – the intention, action & outcome. Sometimes, the ‘action’ may be bad but the intention & outcome will be good. Typical ex is ‘surgery’. The intention and outcome will be good but the ‘action’ is bad.

Gone through Guna Ratna Kosam of Swamy Parasara Bhattar and Sri Sthavam of Swamy Kooresar.

Really praise worthy granthas.

Though Devarir’s understanding is further debatable, I am not interested to carry forward. What results would it yield?

Omniscience of Perumal on one hand and limitless attributes of Thayaar on other hand. Perumal and Thayaar are my two eyes and I am not dare enough to discuss on Perumal vs Thayaar.

They are one in other and not two different entities. This is core principle of Sri Vaishnavam. So, if we discuss further, it will not yield any good results to Adiyen but will only result in Bagavad Nindhanai.

“Vishnu: tvam cha iti Dwandhvam anyOnya Lakshyam”. Oh! Sri Devi, You and your husband
are bound forever by your love for each other. You are never far away from each other even for
a moment; both of You with Your limitless, illustrious qualities are a pair that can be understood completely only through each other. That is why You are introduced as

Aneka Koti Namaskarams Swami,

Perumal and Thayaar speaks through signs. What a mercy they have on a sinful Jiva like Adiyen? Not pointing out anybody or debating but just sharing Adiyen’s experience today.

Just 5 min after typing above message that I could not debate further as Perumal and Thayaar are my two eyes, I was speaking to my father with a worried sad voice that I had become a cause of debate about Perumal and Thayaar.

After sometime, my father was reading Sapthagiri Magazine received today at my home address and came running to me with an article in Page No.3 of Aug 2017 issue. To my surprise, below was present in it. I could not resist myself from telling Karunai of Perumal and Thayaar. So, let me post immediately.

Let me type in Tamil exactly from the article.

Sri Stuthi 9

No words to explain mercy of practically speaking Lord and Lordess who immediately give answers within minutes to their devotees who are confused, even in this Kaliyuga. One Lakshmi photo in the page, one Krishna Photo above and Lord Malayappa Swami with Sridevi and Bhoodevi on left page. Please read Aug Sapthagiri Magazine if you can’t trust my words. We buy Tamil version.

So, I am certainly not interested in debating further. Perumal and Thayaar themselves said that they both are Paradevathas. They both are together one entity and they know themselves each other.

Nama sadasey,

Modhalla onnu purinjukanum. We all are Perumal’s devotees. Perumal is sarvagyan. No doubt. But Mahalakshmi thayar hides our sins from Perumal.

We cannot ask Perumal being savargyan how come something can be hid from him? Adhu thaayar Perumai.

Under cover of Acharya is indeed a great insulting term to a bhAgavatha like adiyen. Devar and co could have easily avoided such terms.

Enakku onnu purila periyava sadhichadhu dhana sonnen. Kuresar Sonna correct adhaye na Sonna thappa? Appo what kind of Sath Sangam are we talking about?

Why do we have premeditated preconceived thoughts “Ivar thappa dhan solluvar”.

Naa perumalukku advocate kidaiyadhu. Adhey dhan ellarum. Namakku therinjadha discuss pandrom.

Idhula pandithyam engerndhu vandhadhu?

Velukkudi Swamy kuda Akasha thaamarai example kuduthirukkar. Venumna avaraye kelungo.

May be this is the reason why Velukkudi Swamy told “Naanga ellathayum solla maatom”.

Sampradhayic intricacies may be not qualified for open discussion.
