Does Charanagadhi lead to Bhakthi seva or does Bhakthi seva enable one to achieve Charanagadhi?

I have heard in upanyasams that both Charanagadhi and Bhakthi seva are given to us by the will and grace of Bhagavan. Neither Bhakthi nor Charanagadhi is attained by our efforts. I just wanted to know which one I should pray for first.
