Sri:

Veda is/was transferred via listening (Shruthi) & memorizing (Smruthi) as adiyen understand from Devareer’s Upanyasams. Not usually via book. So if Azhwar says :

Veda nool praayam nooru

Nool means book. Does it mean book were used those days to spread Veda?

Srimate Raamanujaye Namaha,

Swami i think it depends on which alwaar stated so, i suppose some of them were before Kali yuga and some after kali yuga. And at the start of Kaliyuga or so, the vedas were written into books .

Secondly, books based on vedas and referring to vedas can also be called as “Veda nool”.

Srimate Raamanujaya Namha!

Swami has answered in Enpani 2282. Swami has clarified that “Nool” refers to body of text not a physical book.

Dhanyosmi Swamy
Adiyen was thinking the same. Azhwar would have referred to content as nool. Nool = NyAnam in this case.

Dhanyosmi to EnPaNi Swamy also for participating.
