Vali’s Karma

All my knowledge of Lord Vishnu and love on him is because of Sri Velukkudi krishnan swamy. There is no day I sleep without listening to his voice and his preaching.

During Ramayana, Bhagwan Ram kills Vali hiding behind the tree. It is said the hunter who shots arrow at Krishna is reincarnation of Vali. If Lord Vishnu is not bound by any Karma, why is he shot by Vali (Hunter again). If he is not bound by Karma Why should Kunti’s curse affected clan of lord krishna?

Vinoth swamy, namaskaram.

I don’t know answer to the first question. I personally don’t know if the details are true.

Regarding the second question, I guess you are referring to Ghandhari’s curse; not Kunti.

Yes, Perumal is free from karma; He is not afffected by any outcome. In this instance we can see it as Krishna upholding the principle that the words of such a pathi-vrtha (Ghandhari) will come true.

Srimate Raamnujaye Namaha,

Karma for us is not a choice, it follows us without choice.

But for the lord, Lord uses these circumstances to accomplish what he wants..(which is many in each instance.ie one action 1000’s of accomplishments)

So Lord uses that instances to perform His mission..( in this case fulfill the desire of some souls, to help people believe in karma, that apparently “Lord also affected by karma – so we should be careful about our actions”..the same incident can serve as different lesson for different souls in different levels of realization..

But the fact is he chooses the sequence of events as per the best for all…He is not forced..

(In fact yesterday i heard that karma is nothing by the feeling and imprints about us in Lord’s heart..so how do we define karma for the Lord:)-)

Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha
Srimathe Sri Varaha Mahadesikaya Namaha
Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy Thiruvadigaley Sharanam
Sri Velukkudi Ranganathan Swamy Thiruvadigaley Sharanam

Sri:

Why should Narasimha kill Hiranyakashipu within all the conditions?

Why did Hanuman get tied by Brahmasthram when it cannot harm him?

Why did lord Krishna get tied by Yashodha?

கன்னி நுண் சிறு தாம்பினால் கட்டுண்ண பண்ணிய பெரு மாயன்

Simply it means, “If I break my own law how can I ask others to follow?”

So Vishnu is not bound by Karma but he gives value to Karma by acting according to it.

Srimate Raamanujaye Namaha,

BG 4.9:

janma karma ca me divyam
evaṁ yo vetti tattvataḥ
tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma
naiti mām eti so ’rjuna

Sri Krishna explains that his birth (janma) and actions (Karma) are transcendental (divyam) that is beyond karma.
