ஆண்டாள் நாச்சியார் தன்னுடைய திருப்பாவையின் முப்பதாவது பாசுரத்தில் “வங்கக் கடல் கடைந்த மாதவனை ” என்று பாடியுள்ளார்.
இதன் அர்த்தம் யாது?பெருமாள் வங்கக் கடலை கடைந்தாரா?எதற்க்காக அவர் கடைந்தார்?தேவர்கள் தானே பாற்கடலை கடைந்தனர்.
பிறகு “வங்கக் கடல் கடைந்த மாதவனை “என்ற வாக்கியத்திற்கு பொருள் யாது?

With Acharya ThiruvAdi Bhalam and Velukkudi Swami’s Aasirvadham, Adiyen has heard is upanyasams that during “Samudra Manthanam (Churning of Milky Ocean / வங்க கடல் கடைவது)”,
வங்க means white and that ocean was milk (Thiruppaar kadal).
The Devas and Asuras used our Perumal as a Tool in Koorma form (Tortoise) to support the manthara mountain at bottom during Churning process. This is the role of Perumal’s Koorma Avataram as பெருமாள் வங்கக் கடலை கடைந்தார்.
Adiyen don’t remember the exact paasuram that Velukkudi Swami has mentioned about Swami NamAlwar SCOLDING both Perumal and others (Devas/Asuras) for this incident.
‘1. Alwar scolding Devas and Asuras as என்னுடைய அமுதத்தை வைத்து உங்களுடைய ஆல்பமான அமிருததுக்காக கிடைப்பதற்கு கடைந்தீர்களா?
‘2. Alwar scolding Perumal as அவங்களுக்கு தான் அறிவு இல்லை, உங்களுக்கு அறிவு எங்க போச்சு? உங்களுக்கு கைங்கர்யம் செய்யாதவர்களுக்கு போய், கூலி வேலை செய்வது பரமாத்மா ஸ்வரூபதுக்கு எப்படி தகும்?
Swami NamAlwar says in AazhiEzha paasuram 2 as “My Appan (Perumal) was Squezzed like the remains of a cane stick for someone getting Amritham (juice) / அப்பன் சாறுபட, அமுதம்கொண்ட நான்றே“
