Srimate Ramanujaye Namaha!

NAmsakaaram.

Recently I came across this video by AM Rajgopalaswami, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ja899ZyqD4g where he gives spiritual/astrological solutions of what slokas can be recited for increasing positive energy of the world.  He had considered all possible audience (ranging from saivaites to Vaishnavites , young to old) and accordingly given a wide spectrum of solutions.

The first solution he suggests is that those who have got Gayatri Upadesam should recite and offer Arkyam everyday.  So I asked my close friend who is a vadakalai Iyengar, who is very devoted and has lot of faith in Perumaal to allocate time to do the same. Though he prays and recites regularly other prayer and hymns, he has not been doing Sandya vandaanam every day.  After my request he started collecting the procedure from internet, but based on my observation it looks very long and detailed. It may easily take about 40-50 mins (for morning alone) for him to do by reading everything and then doing it.

Since he has heavy  work responsibilities, I am afraid if he can consistently allocate so much time and continue So I told him that i will find some simpler version applicable for vadakalai from this forum( as he is not a member yet). So kindly  please share a simpler version for beginners.

Dhanyosmi.

Adiyen.

Namaskaaram. My friend is doing sandhya vandanam for the second day and it is taking him about 2 hours for each session. Please guide to a simpler version if available. Thanks.

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha,

Namaskaram enpanifan (Anand) Swami,

Beautifully encouraging devareer’s friend to do Sandhyavandhanam as it is considered as a “Aagya Karma (MUST RITUAL) applicable ONLY for those devotees who has undergone Upanayanam with a Vaathiyar Swami or with ones own Acharyan Swami. If so, the very same Acharyan Swami or Vaathiyaar Swami should be able to direct the best short version (Laghu Sandhyavandhanam)  which can be applied only during the period of time constraint, and such short version not be considered as a standard rule when there is time available to do it full fledge.

Meantime, with Acharya ThiruvAdi Bhalam and Velukkudi Swami’s Aasirvadham, here is a link for Vadakalai Sandhyavandhanam demonstrated by Swami U.ve Sriram Parthasarathy where “Praatha”  Sandhyavandhanam is approx 30minutes and “Saayam” Sandhyavandhanam is approx 18 minutes.

At the end of Praatha Sandhyavandhanam video, Swami says this short version will be feasible to do within 10minutes after practice for people who has time constraints like office goers etc….

Sarvam Acharyan and Sri Velukkudi Swami Thiruvadigalukku Samarpanam.
Swami’s says in Enpani #1723, once we start involving in activities that makes BhagavAn Happy, then we will not even realize how much time we were involved it, since our JeevAthma Swaroopam (natural state) is to engage in BhagavAn’s Service. So once devareer’s friend as a beginner starts doing these activities continuously for BhagavAn’s Happiness, then slowly BhagavAn will reduce the amount of time spent due to other busy schedules, and will engage us more on HIS activities like ThiruAradhanai, Sandhyavandhanam, learning and chanting Vedas/Divya Prabandhams, Acharya Sri Sookthigal etc…. and we won’t even feel tired when spent long hours, since we feel so happy due to the fact that BhagavAn residing inside us feels so Happy.

Srimate Ramanujaye Namaha,

Dhanyosmi Swami. I could not link today’s enpani audio to this thread. But you have beautifully linked it.

My friend is already doing so as you have described. That is why he does not care about the total time and spends lot of time without seeing the watch and does not realize how much time he spends. It is I who  am concerned as it it finally leaves him very less time for sleeping.

The two links you have sent above is the full version or laghu version?

On a side note : My full name is Sivanand, as you refer me as Anand in some posts, thought I can clarify.   Thanks

Adiyen

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha,

Adiyen thought so too. Adiyen thought of calling devareer in short as either Siv or Anand but Adiyen sticked to Anand. Badri Sivanand swami.

Yes, sometimes Velukkudi Swami is like that by providing explicit answers which we have to listen between the lines.

Either way, what Velukkudi Swami says based on adiyen’s perception is just follow the link, the repetition will make it Easier (Laghu) after sometime. Moreover due to demonstration of Sandhyavandhanam, it appears it takes long time in actual.

Velukkudi can confirm in this thread if adiyen understood Swami’s message correctly.

Typo error again. It is “Nandri” Sivanand swami. Misspelled as “Badri” Sivanand swami.

Sandhyavandhanam adiyen learned from Krishna Kimar Vadhiyar in Srirangam long back

It includes vedic raagam tone & meter in reciting

For example we are requesting Gayathri mother

“GAyathreem chandhasaam maatha idham brahma jushasvana:”

When telling together it sounds
“Gaayathreem chandhasaamAthEYdhambrahmajushaavana:”

Most of which I forgot and started recollecting. As per new Vadakalai book released under the blessings of Srimushnam Andavan certain shlokas are missing.

Like ” Shanka chakra karam devam kireetadhi vibhushitham surya mandala madhyastham dhyaayeth swarna ruchim harim”

Before “Yodeva savithAsmAkam…”

Also the old book which my father gave contained anga nyasam, kara nyAsam while latest books don’t feature

Dhik direction protection (vandanam comes after upasthAnam)

Like bargo devasyai shikhaayai vowshat, dheemahi bhalaaya kavachAya hoom, dheeyoyona thejasey nethrAbyam vowshat…

For samAshrayaNam devotees, the PraNAyAmam consists of “AshtAksharam” instead of 7 lokAs after Gayathri japam
