Sage Vyasar was born to Parasarar (Brahmana Rishi) and Satyavati (Fisher woman) and hence Vyasar is non brahmin by birth. He learnt sastras and lead an ascetic life and hence was considered a brahmin. (Kindly correct me if I am wrong)
Vidhurar was born to Vyasar and a servant maid and hence is sudra. Vidhurar learnt sastras and lead life with good conduct. Despite these he was treated as sudra till end. What is the difference between Vyasar and Vidhurar in getting such social status?. Is that because of leading an ascetic life?.
