Sundara Ramanuja swamy! namasaram.

our Swamy has kindly answered your question also in EnPani2133 (although the main focus is in reply to Vikaram swamy question about bhatha-Druvan.

He says there are two essential criteria for mukthi: 1. acharya sambhandam; 2. we must sincerely seek mukthi.

Most of us here are fortunate to have acharya sambhandam already. By (our respective) acharyan’s anugraham we are making progress in cultivating sincere desire for mukthi. When both criteria are fulfilled, we will be qualified to go to Vaikuntam. But if we are engaging in activiteis and conduct that is opposite of this desire, then by acharyan anugraham life will unfold in such a way that we will cultivate this desire sooner than later.

Beautiful and crystal clear answer by our swamy!

Srimate Raamanujaye Namaha,

Sundrajan swamy, Harivamsam audio 170 is relevant to this discussion.(considerable time in the middle of the audio)

Swami explains that while it is true that saranagathi definitely leads to mukthi, definition of Saranagathi is not just limited to the day one gets initiation, but one should remain in that mood from that day onwards forever..otherwise Swami says it cannot be called Saranagathi.

I think  the context of this is important.. we will have to apply this definition to ourselves and not on others.
