Srimate Ramanujaye Namaha,

Namaskaaram Swami.

Adiyen still unsure of how to apply the principle of proper speech stated in Bhagavat Gita (17.15) as follows:

“anudvega-karam vakyam
satyam priya-hitam ca yat
svadhyayabhyasanam caiva
van-mayam tapa ucyate
Austerity of speech consists in speaking words that are truthful, pleasing, beneficial, and not agitating to others, and also in regularly reciting Vedic literature.”

Whenever we speak truth it is not pleasing to others in this age and time and they easily get displeased  or agitated.. how to overcome this situation?

Adiyen.

You are listening to EnPani audio everyday right? Here is an everyday example of speaking truth without hurting anybody, without agitating anybody and without displeasing anybody. And all this mixed with a very subtle sense of humour!!

Good example swami..but in reality when you dealing on one to one the situation becomes different, people take it personally..fox example some one under our care is doing something wrong..to explain the correct std..in whatever way we tell it seems displeasing to them..

Enpanifan swamy namaskaram.

if you are refering to your child, then discuss with your wife and see how to handle it better; usually children are more receptive to amma’s words.

If you are referring to your wife, then consult your in-laws or may be your parents too on how best to help your wife in your circumstances.

If you are refering to other people, like someone placed under your care in your work place, consult the person who placed him/her under your care. First of all check whether person whom you consider ‘under your care’ really sees you as a mentor. If that person is not looking up to you that way, you can not simply assume he/she is under your care and try to help them. You can only take the horse to the pond…..

Srimate Ramanujaye Namaha!

Namskaaram swami.. Yes it is true that the person whom we assume to be under our care should really look up to us..Well said..Yes we are not the actual care givers.. It is Krishna who is taking care, but we can do our duties as an instrument..

Coincidentally, i got the answer to this question this morning in an audio series i am hearing..

It was explained that

  1. we should have selected speech and not speak unnecessarily.. and when we speak two things are important
  2. external friendliness and
  3. internally there should be no grudges.  This can happen only if love that person truly. if not at least respect them and see them also as parts and parcels/children  of Supreme Lord Krishna..

So in summary it is not those moments we speak that has effect on others, but our whole absorption and perception has impact ..so the same words said by different people can have different impact on others.

Dhanyosmi

Today a thought struck in my mind that when one does Tapas and attains the position of Siddhi then in him the most common darkness of ignorance vanishes, he feels subtle, experiences consciousness, intelligence to a great extent ( The True Atma Swaroopa), so when such is the case?, then how come Raavana who was not just Dharma ‘a’ gyan  or  Shastra ‘a’ gyan and importantly a Siddhi Purusha, how come ignorance or darkness can be there leaving Aside these 2 Samadhanams, 1- That they belonged to Rakshas category and they are always in the mode of Darkness and 2 – Both of them did their Tapas in order to benefit or have an upper edge off the Devas and got the powers  from Samasaric ( Brahma ) who in himself is driven by Rajasic mode .

If the Rajas/Tamas is the goal of tapas , it all demolishes all the gyan.

Seems I can’t speak today

Samy, the above quoted understanding is not correct. This is a misconception. For short answer please read Srimad Bhagavad Gita verses 17.4-6, 17.25 and 17.28. For detailed answer please read 16th chapter and 17th chapter in full.

adiyen dasan.

Better than read on your own and try to understand, please hear upanyasam and then kalasepam on these verses.

Namaskaram Swami

Thanks and will adhere to the same.

Sri Mukkur Lakshmi Narasimha Acharyar Swamy used to say

“When tiger adheres vratham (fasting) for many days, moment fast is over it starts eating more animals. Qualified dharmic only should do tapas”

It is because you like someone or something so you take it in right sense. People can get offended to anything. Even lord SriRam could not please everyone.

Some people can’t like logic. Some people can’t like truth.

So facts are more important and it should be told without fear.

Even so-called Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has lot of followers it doesn’t mean whatever he speaks becomes correct.

A Hindu religious speaker obviously may not make sense to other religions.

Similarily Aadi Shankarar will not be sensible to Ramanujar. There will be poorva paksham and refutal.

Sometimes from Swamy Desikan’s end it is called ” Khandanam” or ” Para Matha Bhangam”

During this process you are not here to PLEASE ANYONE

We should take good from everyone.

Baseline rule is not to break Guru’s words
Ramanujar broke his Guru’s words? Then does it become correct?

Of course it is NOT CORRECT to break Guru’s words even if it is Swamy Ramanuja.

Just because Swamy Ramanuja did, it does not become right

We accept our Swamy so things fall in to right places automatically.

“Swamy Ramanujar pannina correcta dhan irukkum”

Thirukkoshtoyur nambi yethunuttar, nee yaaru kelvi kekka?

Nu sila Peru kekkalam

I just say “It should not give a wrong precedence if we are going to follow footsteps of our Acharyan”

Udayavavaery pannitaar , naan pannina enna? Nu neraya peyar reasoning vechu kekka aarambippa

Enna veliya Dharma Sandeha la opena solla Matta. Ulla onnu vechu puram onnu pesuva.

“Naan nalladhukkaga dhan guru pechu meerinen”
“Naalu perukku nalladhu na edhuvumey thappu illa” nu nayagan padam dialogue pesa arambippa.
