Position of Lord Yama among Devatas

Aneka Koti Namaskaarams to Swamy.

Adiyen understand from scriptures that Lord Brahma is the foremost in hierarchy among Jeevas in Samsara (Adiyen is not discussing about Muktatmas).

But, Brahma also has a life span and time limits. Yama is generally termed as Kaalan or the Lord of time.

Does this mean Yama was created before Brahma? In that case, Yama should be the first in hierarchy and greater than Brahma. But, we always respect Brahma as foremost and Yama is lower in grade than Brahma.

Also, the life span of Indradhi Devas is understood as one Manvantara only. In that case, what is the life span of Lord Yama? Also, what is the position of Lord Yama in the hierarchy of Devas.

Dear Bakthas,

Adiyen initially posted but not approved. However, Adiyen doubt if Swamy will be able to see if not approved for posting. So, Adiyen approved it.

If Bakthas have authentic answers quoted from scriptures or any previous audio/video by Swamy, please feel free to share thoughts.

Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Guruve Namaha,

Dear BhagavAta,

There is possibility that Swami would have missed to notice this question due to Swami’s busy schedule or due to many clouded questions. Since it’s been more than 2 months, and as BhagavAta has requested for authentic references, , adiyen AS USUAL would like to authentically reference Swami’s upanyasam topics and Grantham references with Acharya Krupai.

Srimadh BhagavAtam “Kaandam 5 Adhyayam 26”:

all slokas deals with the Pitrulokam and 28 different types of Naraka Lokam and YamaRaja’s activities. Below (southside) of the Bhoomandalam is the Pitrulokam and 28 different types of Naraka lokams are situated below Pitrulokam. BhagavAn Sriman NarayanAn has given YamaRaja the repsonsilibity of Pitrulokam and all the 28 different types of Naraka lokams.

Slokam 6 says PitruRaja (YamaRaja) is Son of Vivasvan (Sun demi-god).

yatra ha vāva bhagavān pitṛ-rājo vaivasvataḥ ………………

‘pitṛ-rājo’ means the “King of the Pitrus” nothing but PitruRaja a.k.a YamaRaja

‘vaivasvataḥ’ means “son of the Sun demi-god.

Sun demi-god is son of Kasyapa Muni and Aditi. So Yama is Grandson of Kasyapa Muni and Aditi. Yama is Great-Grandson of Marichi and Great-Great Grandson of Brahma.

But all are JeevAthmas occupying different Padhavi’s in this Samsaram and servants of the ParamAthma Sriman NarayanAn.

Slokam 37 is the Key slokam to understand, which states,

evaṁ-vidhā narakā…………………………punar-bhave ta ubhaya-śeṣābhyāṁ niviśanti.

means, all the Jeevathamas (IMPOUS ones) enter these lower level lokams and get rehabhilated depending up on the crimes that they have done, and slowly they become pious later and then attain the higher level demi-god lokmas (above the BhooMandalam) like Indra lokam or Sathya (Brahma lokam). However BhagaVAn SukAcharyar says that all the JeevAthmas in higher level lokams (PIOUS ones) or in lower level lokams (IMPOUS ones) also have to take Birth in the BHooMAndalam (earth) after their Karmas are Relinguished in these lokams (punar-bhave ta ubhaya-śeṣābhyāṁ niviśanti.), which means it applies to all the JeevAthmas in these lokams including the leaders (demi-gods) of these lokams, Brahma etc…..

*********************************************

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami has beautifully said these in the “Archiradhi Maargham” upanyasam, where Pillai LokAcharyar says that every Sharanagathan due to Swami Ramanuajar Krupai travels through this Archiradhi maargham. During this MukthAThma’s travel to Moksham (Last Birth), The Vazhi THunai Perumal (BhagavAn SrimanAn NarayanAn) takes us though the Archis lokam, Sathya lokam etc… and the Brahma does PaadhA Poojai of that MuktAthma, so that Perumal expects that at some time this JeevAthma in the Brahma post also gets the AASAI to Moksham by consuming the ShreePAdha Theertham of that MukAthma and later that JeevAThma in Brahma body follows either Upasana Margham or Sharanagathy Maargham to reach Moksham Sri Vaikuntam.

So BhagavAta, don’t worry about Yama’s life term or the 14 lokams, since Brahma post exist only for 100 years of Brahmas life time (Perumal does MahaPralayam), and hence all Lokams wil be dissolved including Yama lokams, but the JeevAThma inside the present Bramha body or any other deva body/human body will take a different post or birth in this Samsaram depending up on its “ANTHIMA SMRITHI (LAST MINUTE THOUGHT in DEATH BED)” after Perumal starts Shristi, or may reach Moksham depending up BhagavAn’s ThiruvAdi Karunai.

Since the Human birth that we have taken is precious, we cannot afford to go to other 14 lokams and suffer like the present demi-gods or humans. We will never know where we will wander in this Samsaram.

So, adiyen would like to suggest which most BhagavAtas of other Sampradhayams follow for their Moksha Praaptthi. Hence, BhagavAta to keep chanting BhagavAtas own Acharyan Thaniyan and BhagavAtas GuruParamparai Sampradhaya MadhvaAcharya Swami’s Mangalam Slokam, and say the JagadhAcharyar’s Vaazhi Thirunaamam “Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha“daily. Swami Ramanujar will take care of BhagavAtA’s Moksham through BhagavAtas own GuruParamparai Acharyas, since Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami has said, All Acharyas BEFORE Swami Ramanujar got Moksham due to Swami Ramanujar’s “ThiruMUDI SAMBHANDHAM“, and All Acharyas AFTER Swami Ramanujar got Moksham due to Swami Ramanujar’s “ThiruVADI SAMBHANDHAM“.

Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha,

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Gurve Namaha,

Dear BhagavAta,

In addition, Based on Swami’s upanyasams, there are 4 different types of Pralayam.

  1. Nithya Pralayam : Routine individual’s Birth-Death in a Sthoola body in this samsaram. But born again in a different sthoola body in this samsaram. So the BhaddAthma remains as BhaddAthma by takes different different bodies based on its karmas, since it is not yet released from this Samsaram.
  2. Aathyanthika Pralayam: After Every Brahmas’ 12 Hrs (1000 Chatur yugas) completion, 3 of the lokams (Boo, Bhuvaha,Suvaha) gets dissolved by burning fire or water.
  3. Naimithika Pralayam: Individual Last Birth/Death in the sthoola body. After this the BhaddAthma is released Permanetly from this Samsaram and becomes MuktAthma by reaching Moksham ‘Sri Vaikuntam’ due to Sharanagathy on BhagavAn’s Lotus feet (Acharya Krupai). No Rebirth in samsaram after that.
  4. Praakritha Pralayam (a.k.a Maha Pralayam): After Brahma’s 100 years (720,000 chatur yugas), BhagavAn Srimana NarayanAn disssolves all the 14 Loakms including all the demi-gods posts and each JeevAthma’s that occupied each of the posts gets Layam on Peruma’s Thirumeni in thsi Samsaram or reaches Moksham depending up BHagavAn’s Krupai.

So, BhagavAn has given only the responsibility of the “Nithya Pralayam” Kaala Kanakku of each individual BhaddAthma’s to Yama Raja. So, YamaRaja is the “Kaalan of Nithya Pralayam Time” who keeps at what “Time” which JeevAthmas needs to be pulled from their Sthoola body depending up on their karmas.

So YamaRaja is NOT Kaalan (King of Time) for the Entrie “Kaala Chakkram”. Since BhagavAn does the Ultimate Maha Pralayam (closes out YamaRaja’s time, Brahmas time etc…), so Sriman NarayanAn is the Master “Kalvan” of Time, “Honorable KING of  the ENTRIE KAALA CHAKKARAM.

Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha,

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Guruve Namaha,

Sorry BhagavAta. Adiyens’s calculation error on 4. Maha Pralayam for 100 years of Brahma.

  • 1 Kali Yuga (KY) = 432,000 our years ( 1Year as per shastram is 360 our days).
  • 1 Dwapara Yuga = 2 x KY years
  • 1 Treta Yuga = 3 x KY years
  • 1 Sathya Yuga = 4 x KY years
  • 1 Chatur Yuga (CY) = 4xKY+3xKY+2xKY+1xKY = 43,20,000 years (43 lakh 20 thousand years)
  • 12 hrs of Brahma = 1000 chatur yugas (1000 x CY).
  • 1 day of Brahma (24hrs) = 2000 chatur Yugas (2000x CY) earth years,
  • 1 year (360 days) of Brahma = 360 x 2000 x CY chatur yugas =720,000 chatur yugas.
  • 100 years of Brahma =100 x 360 x 2000 x CY years = 720,00,000 CY (chatur yugas) = 720,00,000 x 43,20,000 years = 3110,40,00,00,00,000 our years = 1 Maha Pralayam.

So adiyen dedicate a song for Our SARKAR (BhagavAn Sriman Narayan),

Top tuckkaru,Sharpu lookaru, Stuntu nakkaru, Spark flickarru, Podu shuttaru………..

Top tucker (Swamithvam guna)
Sharpu lookaru (PundarikaakshAn, Veerya gunas)
Stuntu nakkaru (Bhala, Shakthi gunas)
Spark flickerru (Gyana Tejas gunas)

Podu shuttera (Samsaram ‘Shutdown’ for Maintenance by BhagavAn Sriman NarayanAn)
