Kindly narrate to her the story of Prahalada and highlight how Perumal did not stop the difficulties, but he unfailingly protected Prahalada through every single difficulty! On Prahalada’s part, he used every instance to deepen his bhakthi towards Perumal. Likewise, in our life also we will definitely face ups and downs as determined by our karma. There is no escape from this; nobody will ever have a life that has only ups or even stays same. There will be variations – ups and downs. On our part, we have to be steadfast in our attachment to Perumal, and this will make it easier for us to get past the difficult phase. Such situations can actually help us gain spiritual qualities! For example, you can tell her how the current situation helped you both to appreciate amma’s significance in your life a lot more than what you felt earlier. 

Also help her hear EnPani 2114 “அவர் காரணமல்ல; ஆனால் பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்வார்”.

Such explanations from you based on acharyas teachings can help her understand to some extent. But to have a lasting effect on her and to help her deepen her faith, kindly encourage her to participate in some form of naamasankirtanam regularly. This is the prescribed process for the kaiyuga to get rid of the effects of our past sins. Some of these sins block our understanding of spiritual truths. When we engage in naamasankirtanam, these sins are தீயினில் தூசாகும் and as a consequence we will be able to understand the spiritual truth easily, with ever deepening faith.
