Marriage fixing – karmic details

How an atman selects the (physical) partner after taking human form. At the time of finalizing the marriage, do the atman know the life with that partner will be the correct / destined one to undergo the karma being carried by that atman. I am not considering other physical points here.

to my adien’s understanding, we just get the partner appropriately fitting for us to do our dharma through our parents. Hence, regards atman is concerned, our only friend is our acharyan who recommends us to the thayar so she can plead on our behalf to HIM at the right moment.
