Namaskaram to Sri Velukkudi Swami.
Namaskaram to all Sri Vaishnava Bagavathas.

During Ekadesi vratham/fasting, I’m having acidity problems. I have some water to manage to an extent. Is there a better way to manage or prevent acidity during the fasting?

Srimate Ramanujaye Namaha,

Swamy would suggest you to consult an ayurvedic doctor and know your body type. For Vata type body full fasting is not recommended. ( in general vata dominant people are those who are lean and active like air ) For kapha dominant people fasting is good.

if you fall under vata type , then you can consider adding sufficient fruits and milk (separately with sufficient gap) on Ekadashi days.

Namo Narayanaya

Eat “alkaline” veggies and fruits on Ekadashis, if you eat on Ekadashi. Full fast is not recommended if you are facing much acidity.

Alkaline foods –

Cucumber
Sweet fruits like watermelon, Muskmeleon
Banana
Coconut water
Guava
Spinach
Coriander
Mint etc

You find them in browser.

You can also drink water which was soaked with meethi seeds for some hours and then strain them and drink it.
