Adiyen namaskaram swami I am non Brahmin I always worship lord vishnu and I like to be vaishnavan. But kuladeivam is different in our family so Shall I worship kuladeivam or not
Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha,
Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Guruvae Namaha,
Did Bhagavata had Acharya Samasrayanam. If so, Kula Deivam for all sharanagathas is “Swami NamAlwar”.
Reference: Enpani #911 ‘Gothram and Deivam after Samasrayanam” Swami says, A Brahman in any Gothram, Kulam becomes a SriVaishnavaite only after Acharya Samasrayanam and follows “Parankusa – Parakala- Yathirajar” as Gothram-Suthram-Charanam. Same applies to all Varnas after Acharya Samasrayanam. All Varnas are eligible for Acharya Samasrayanam and we all belong to one kulam ‘Prapanna Kulam’ and Kula Deivam is “Swami NamAlwar” for all Prapannas, which is our ultimate destination for Moksham “SriVaikunta Praapthi” for Nithya Kainkaryam, since Ramanujar is Swami NamAlwar’s ThiruvAdi, and NamAlwar inturn is ThiruvAdi (Shatari) of Perumal-Thayar.
If Bhagavata didnot have Acharya Samasrayanam yet, then it will be upto Bhagavatas Aasai, as whom to consider as Kula Deivam. Since BhagavAra understood Lord Vishnu is ParaBrahmam, Sri Vishnu is Kula Deivam for BhagavAta. If bhagavatas family is praying a demi-god as kula deivam, then try to pray the SriVishnu who is residing inside that demi-god. Over a period of time, BhagavAn will consolidate to one Kula Deivam (SriVishnu) depending up on BhagavAtas Nishtai and priyam/bhakthi towards SriVishnu.
