Kannan – Poornavatharam

Updated on August 14, 2020 in Avatars

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namah! Sri Sriranga Narayana Jeeyar Swamigale Saranam! Sri Velukkudi Swamigal Thiruvadigale Saran!

Namaskaram Swami! Dhanyosmi for all the beautiful experiences that devareer is sharing with us on Mother Andaal!

In devareer’s day 2 lecture of Andaal Geetai, at time 36:56, Swami said “ப்ரஹ்மம் தன்னை குறைத்துக்கொண்டு கண்ணனாக பிறந்திருக்கிறார்”. adiyen’s understanding based on the knowledge shared by devareer is Rama and Krishna are poorna avatharams of Brahmam or Sriman NArayanan. When that is true, how do we understand this swami?

Badrinarayana Ramanuja Dasan

Srimate Ramnujaye Namaha,

Swamy, Similar discussion was started few days ago in this thread.. https://www.kinchit.org/dharma-sandeha/thread/maryadha-purushottham-ram-vs-poorana-purushottham-krishna/

But specifically for the question here i Think infinity -x or infinity/x is also infinity.. so Krishna can still be Poorna avatar.

It depends on what definition we give for “poorna” – Each aspect of Brahmam is complete on its own as well as indicated in the invocation in Isoupanishad.

oṁ pūrṇam adaḥ pūrṇam idaṁ
pūrṇāt pūrṇam udacyate
pūrṇasya pūrṇam ādāya
pūrṇam evāvaśiṣyate

The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete, and because He is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced of the Complete Whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the Complete Whole, even though so many complete units emanate from Him, He remains the complete balance.

Adiyen
