How to restore our ancient life-style including the Gurukul-based value education system

Namaskaram,

I would like to use this forum to express my displeasure about the way the entire world is functioning now. Everyone is talking crazily about growth and innovation etc.,- be it economic, infra development, education life-style and so on… After reading our SriVaishnava Sidhantha, you would realize how silly or stupid the way we are entangled in this modern world- constantly extending the unvalued goal posts in the unnecessary rat-race.

The pathetic situation here is that all are trying to contest in the so-called rat-race unnecessarily citing the above mentioned reasons. By doing this, we conveniently tend to forget that we can do much better and bigger in a relaxed way if we follow our ancient life-style. In this science-dominated hectic life, we do not accept the truth just because it is not proven scientifically. For instance, the theory of evolution – origin of human being – is still taught based on scientific principles and not the Veda-based truth until the day when science revokes their theory. So, we are being taught incorrect principles. What is the use of going behind these unvalue education system?

Moreover, it is also pathetic to see the amount of money being spent(or wasted) on these unworthy education system? For instance, you can buy a good SriVaishnava Sidhhantha texts for a mere amount compared to the texts of modern education system and the value for money is immeasurable for SriVaishnava texts. Our Sanadhana Dharma principles and practices can be applied for both worlds whereas the modern education is only applied for this world. We must start engaging our children and our society to learn our Sanadhana Dharma principles and practices in a structured / formal way – at least parallel to the present education system.

Everyone agree to this as an individual whereas hesitant to adopt and apply in society. At least, we- as Sanadhana Dharma-followers-try to restore gradually our ancient life-style. For instance, within our society we can pledge our support to this and help each other in each and every aspect to diligently follow our values. Be it promoting our Veda-based education system or giving importance to our cultures etc.,

Collectively, we try to inculcate our children and society with this. By nurturing this value education we will restore all our cultural values- respect, discipline, good habits, good health etc.,

Just a thought…

By doing this our children will aware of the truth based on our Veda, Vedantha texts and get rid off the doubts.

German kids are studying in Gurukul education in India; their parents are in Germany it seems; they realized the real value of this precious/ golden value education system/methodology… whereas, we are running in the rat-race…. for a ZERO-value education and the subsequent  slavery working life??!!

Srimate Raamanujaye Namaha,

Dhanyosmi swami for sharing the video, it was very inspiring and nice to see the video.

I think Sri Velukkudi swami has also set up a small Gurukula in Srirangam, but not sure if the opportunity is fully being used by eligible students ( in terms of no of admitted students to max admissible capacity).

You earlier post on how to revive gurukula system is very thoughtful and nice.

It is a tough task though.. We need dedicated people who are well learned in sastras to come forward and dedicate their lives and to teach the students.. we have few examples in the society like Velukkudi swami, but we may need more such examples.. and more importantly the students and parents must be willing to come forward to admit their children in Gurukula..( Also heard of a Gurukula in Melkote, one bhagawataa mentioned in a thread in this forum ealrier this year)

So most probably modern maths and science  and arts can/will also be taught in parallel for few hours  a day.

But until that happens more widely, perhaps one simpler solution is to have a few families together homeschool the children. But this again requires that all members are highly spiritually elevated and focused  so that cooperation and understanding will exist.

Dhanyosmi enpanifan swamy for your comments.

Adiyean finds that an increasing number of population(younger generation) is longing for such a value-based system…  below is one of links that echoes such desire..

Today’s all problems can be nullified with such education, especially issues raised with(/faced by) young generation.
