Namaskaram Swamy

On hearing Enpani 1582, it is clear that Atma and Prana vayu are not the same.

How the ‘Uyir’ is explained ? Is it related to heart beating ?

I heard in one condolence someone saying ‘Eman pazhi yerka mattan’.

It is very well known that if the time for death comes, certainly, the body will experience odds leading to ‘seerkedu’ of health by any way.

Request clarifications.

Swamy, kindly accept my heartfelt Gratitude placed at your lotus feet.

Seeking Guru’s anugraham always,

Yours sincerely

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha,

Namskaram Sri Hari Bhakthai,

With Acharya ThiruvAdi Bhalam & Sri Velukkudi Swami Aasirvadham, adiyen will share from Swami’s upanyasams regarding devareer’s:

Query-1

On hearing Enpani 1582, it is clear that Atma and Prana vayu are not the same.

How the ‘Uyir’ is explained ? Is it related to heart beating ?

Answer: “Uyir” means “Athma” itself.

Reference: Swami NamAlwar ThiruvAimozhi Mudhal Patthu, 1.1.7 paasuram

Prefix, Shastram says three Tatvam’s,

  1. Achit’s : “In-sentient”, Jada Porul). These are Countless.
  2. Chit’s : “Sentient”, Chaitanyam udaya porul, Uyirulladhu (Athma). These are Countless.
  3. ParamAthma : Supreme BhagavAn Sriman NarayanAn. This is ONLY ONE.

So, Swami NamAlwar’s paasuram 1.1.7 ,

  • first two stanza says about BhagavAn pervades Inside & Outside all the countless Achit’s (all Pancha Bhoothams, நீர் நிலம் etc…..All In-Sentient objetcs) with vast variety of colors and forms. HE pervades them ALL, IN & OUT.
  • second stanza says about BhagavAn pervades Inside/Outside all the countless Chit’s (உயிரெனக் …..All Sentient Athma’s) with and pervaded inside/outside the Athma’s body (உடல்மிசை) as well.
  • Third stanza says about BhagavAn contains them ALL (all Chit’s/Achit’s) inside HIS stomach during the period of deluge (இவை உண்ட சுரனே)

So, it is evident that “Uyir” means “Athma (Ourselves)

Query-2 regarding Yama Dharma Rajan

“I heard in one condolence someone saying ‘Eman pazhi yerka mattan’.

Answer: A Prapannan (Sharanagathan) on Sriman NarayanAn’s Lotus Feet DOESN’t WORRY about Yama Dharma Rajan’s activities like “Eman pazhi yerka mattan’” or what else he does. We just keep our feet on top of Yama dharma rajan’s assistants (Kinkara’s) Head and Walk over their heads without fear, due to Sharanagatha’s being involved in Kainkaryam and Moksham with Acharya Ramanuja Krupai.

Reference: ThondarAdiPodi Alwar’s “Thirumaalai 1st paasuram

தமர் means ‘Yama kinkaraas (assistants of Yama)’

தலைகள் மீதே  means on their heads

For detailed meaning of this paasuram, please listen to Swami’s Upanyasams.

Since devareer already has Gratitude towards Sri Velukkudi Swami as said “Swamy, kindly accept my heartfelt Gratitude placed at your lotus feet.”, it implies, Devareer already has Sri Velukkudi Swami’s Anugraham.
