This time as dwadasi happens to be on pongal day, I am wondering if we can cook the usual agathi keerai, Sundaikkai , Nellikai etc for paarayanam on Dwadasi day? I think I have heard that some of these items are not usually cooked for sankranthi/ pongal day. So kindly please clarify. Thanks

Tough question? No one replied. As told by our elders pandigai is important than vridham kindly clarify.

Dhanyosmi. Yes I was forced to do that..as my family members did not allow me..so used the agathi keerai to feed to cows and cooked nellikai alone.
But next year if ekadasi comes on pongal day.. not sure how it will be handled.
