Doubts regarding theetu

Namaskaram Swamy,

Adiyen has a doubt on whether the following things can be done during theetu caused by a relatives death / or other theetu –

1. Whether there are any restrictions for ashtakshara japam (incl restrictions on number of times). Adiyen has learnt from elders that there are restrictions in Gayatri japam.

2. Adiyen understands that Bhagavad tiruvaradanam cannot be done on those days. But can we offer Perumal, whatever we cook before we eat? Since elders have repeatedly taught that it is of the highest virtue to treat our tiruvaradana Perumal as our child and take utmost care.

3. Are there any restrictions on dwayam anusandanam or purva Acharya stotra padams during these times? I believe prabandham sevithal is prohibited.

Kindly clarify.

Adiyen,

🔸Namaskaram swamy,🔸
1) You can recite astaksharam and Gayatri mantra inside your mind at any time. There is no restriction for reciting for thinking it and reciting it in our mind. Once velukkudi Krishnan swamy had said that we can recite whatever mantras we want in our mind, as we cannot control our thoughts. So, you can recite anything In your mind

2) There is restriction for doing thiruvaradhanam but when you are begin to eat, think about your thiruvaradhana perumal and offer that food in a manasika way ( through mind)

3) The answer for first question, suits this question also
