Shri Velukkudi Swamigalin Porpadhangalukku Adiyenin Aneka Koti Namaskarams.

Swami. Adiyen got a doubt while going through third Adhyaya of Bagavad Gita for some other purpose.

In one of slokas, Krishnar says, senses, mind and buddhi are all instruments of desires.

Mind is stronger than senses but it also goes by desires. Buddhi is stronger than mind. But, in case of a common man, this buddhi also goes by desires.

For example, a person’s buddhi may object him from doing a karyam. But, still a common man goes behind desires and thinks we can do Pariharam for this after satisfying desires.

Even when a person’s buddhi triggers him to pray God, he may just pray to satisfy his desires only.

Every Baktha of today might have been a common man with material desires in past births. In this situation, when buddhi of a common man is also helpless, how does a man get Ruchi in Bakthi and Saranagathi?

1. Shall karma of a man after crores and crores of birth permit this Ruchi? In that case, karma based on desires will more and more push into karma and how a man can get this Ruchi on Lord? Desires are endless and natural satisfaction is impractical for a common man.

2. Does buddhi have power to act against our karma and bring Ruchi on Lord? If so, then why not all people applying buddhi are unable to develop Ruchi on Lord? We are seeing buddhi is also working towards desires only in many cases, though it has capability to control mind.

3. Does God decide who shall get this Ruchi based on His free will? In that case, we are saying God impartially shows mercy on all Jivas and how to understand that He chooses some Jivas irrespective of their karma, only based on His free will to develop this Ruchi and make a human His Baktha?

In short, what is the cause of Ruchi on Lord and Bakthi/Surrender in first instance, to a common man who is living as per fruits of his actions and doesn’t yet have awareness of Lord or Moksha?
