Swamy, I think there are 2 possibilities:

1.nature of fire will remain same.. but the paramatma iniside fire / agni Bhagawaan will ensure the local /current behavior of fire..how it will behave at that place and time .

2. Second possibility is even if fire behaves normally, the Parmamtma inside the truthful person’s body will ensure and decide the reaction on the body. Or even the reaction on mind.

So this is an exception for exalted souls the other fact or nature of agni is for common souls.

This is adiyen’s understanding.. But would be happy to hear other perspectives too.

I don’t know about ‘touching fire and not getting hurt’ example; I am not able to conceive it.  The only instance I am able to see it when Hanuman’s tail did not feel the heat because of Piratti’s anugraham.

But I see the truth of subjective perception superceding objective perception at a much lower level.

We have heard the story about the king who accidentally cut his finger; the minister said “it is all for good”; the upset king put him in prison; when king went for hunting he was captured by human-sacrificing tribe; but they let him go because finger was cut; king released the miniter and apologised. minister said, “it is all for good; otherwise the tribe would have caught me and sacrificed”.

 

In this story, the minister was put in prison, a place of suffering; but his optimistic mind did not find suffering there; he remained happy as ever.

 

Thus, subjective perception does supercede the  objective perception of the situation.

Conclusion:
If our sanctity overpowers the 5 elements, impact of 5 elements won’t be there.
