Namaskaram
One of my colleague at office narrated an incident and asked me thw difference between karma and paapam

Are both same or different?

If one person suffers due to other person we say the person who suffered is due to karma and the person who was responsible for other person suffering does he add paapam to his life? Or he is born to make the other person live their karma???

Please give a clarity on this.

Thank you

Whatever you’re doing is karma. Even inhaling &exhaling also are karmas. For each smart fate you have got to relish smart karma phalams. Similarly, for each bad karma you have got to relish dangerous karma phalams.

To do bad things for others is said to be a bad karma or papa karma. And for all the papa karmas, you will get the papam in your account. This you have to suffer in your life by yourself.
So, always keep doing only good karma & don’t indulge in any bad karma. Website

Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha,

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Guruve Namaha,

Perfectly said BhagavAta as “always keep doing only good karma and don’t indulge in any bad karma“. Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami has additionally said, to SURRENDER that good karmas (Punyas) to lotus feet of Sri Krishnan as “Sarvam Sri Krishnarpanam Asthu“, so that we don’t relish the Phalams of Punya karmas as well, which makes our Master ‘The Supreme’ ParaBrahmam Sri Krishna (SriVenkateswara) HAPPY, since we all (JeevAthmas) are HIS Child and our Father SriKrishna (ParamAthma) will take care of us.

Adiyen Sri Velukkudi Krishna Dasan,

Sarvam Sri Krishnarpanam Asthu.

Adiyean Ramanuja Dhasan,

Sri Velukkudi Swamigal Thiruvadigale Saranam.

Dear Janani Bhaktha,

Adiyean shares what is heard from Swamigal’s Pravachanam. Just a request to all Bhakthaas.

Please listen to Swamigal’s discourses CDs- it is an Ocean of Sri Vaishnava / Sanathana Dharma contents which are purely based on our Alwargal and PoorvaAcharyar’s Granthams.

All the doubts are clarified crystal clear if you devote your precious time.

Actually, it is immensely pleasurable when you hear Swamigal’s Upanyasams (live- if you can) or CDs (if you are unable to attend the live. What I am telling is not just to flatter Swamigal- of course He is much beyond to those- but want to emphasize is that it is real enjoyment – two-in-one. Meaning, you would enjoy the upanyasams as it is of much interesting and you are slowly gaining the aAthma Ghanam which lead you to Bhakthi/Mukthi Markkam.

The causes or reasons are clearly stated or all the day-to-day activities’ doubts are clarified/answered throughout his different titles of upanyasams.

To your query, adiyean cite from this year Kaliyuga Mahathmiyam audio CDs provided with Calendar 2018:

We cannot point to (or make it responsible)our Poorva Karmas for all of our daily activities or the consequences of these activities.

  1. Please listen to the example stories of Nala Damayanthi and Dharma Putran. They were subjected to immense distress due to incorrect application / exercising of their “Swathanthram”  Ghanam. That means, they know that gambling is Adharmam or will fall them to the lowest. However, Dharmaputhran misunderstood that denying the other King’s request for gambling is against Dharmam. Same goes to Nalan story. Hence, both of them did not distinguish well which is dharmam or Adharmam- they did not exercise their Swathanthira ghanam properly.
  2. Each and every activity that one involves has “Vishesha kaaranam and “Saamanya kaaranams. Vishesha karanam is the one that is the immediate cause for the effect/outcome (be it good or bad)That is, the one who does using his Ghanam. Whereas, Saamanya karanam is indirect or distant cause for this effect. As per Sastham, the impact or outcome (be it Punyam or Phabham) of the deeds (karmam) is solely attributed to the Vishesha karanam (the immediate cause) or Kartha (doer).
  3. Bhaghavan does not interfere in one’s free will (Swathanthira) decisions- neither in preventing nor in encouraging. If you know that the food is poisoned then, for sure,  you will not be ready to consume the poisoned food- why??- because you are using your freewill to deny that (you know that will be killed). In the same way, why you cannot exercise your freewill to adopt or do good things? One has to exercise swathanthira ghanam properly/wisely to comply with Dharma. Bhaghawan expects each and every aAthmaas to exercise its free-will power wisely to do good deeds stated in Sasthras.

In your example, this is not due to past/poorva karma palan. Because, the minor or daily activities and their effects are not the cause of one’s past karmas and it is purely based on their free will decisions. Hope, you could digest (understood)the reply.

Adiyean would like to add few more…

You may ask how do I know which is right path or how to use the free will to make correct decisions…

Simple, if a child cannot make a proper decision then what will he/she do? Will seek its parents’ help to guide them properly.

In our case, it is Bhaghawan and Thaayar, our parents.. so leave it to Him – surrender- and plead that I am “Arivili” (oru pirayojanamum illaatha/ onnume theriyatha makku). Nee thaan ennai vazhi nadathanum. Please guide me to overcome this samsaara saharam.

Then, you are much relieved- because, Bhaghawan will hold your hands tightly (please note that it is HE that is holding your hands and NOT you hold HIS hands- Monkeys example). HE will send you to your aAcharyar to take care of you and to guide you properly. Of course, it is like Guru Kulalm; wherein parents send their children to learn saranakathi properly. HE will still hold your hands tightly to make sure you are not deviating the right path (Mukthi).

Please forgive me if adiyean has twisted the true essence of pravachanams from Swamigal.

Adiyean,

Ramanuja Dhasan.

Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha,

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami Guruve Namaha,

Wonderful Question Janani BhagavAta and beautiful references by Nimisha BhagavAta and Srinivasan BhagavAta taking time and effort to write down based on details from Swami’s 2018 KKT Calendar on Bhakthiya Mukthiya. All BhagavAtas THiruvAdikku Pallandu.

The Calendar writings/script is done by Swami itself and Design/English Translation is done by other adiyaars with Swami’s Anugraham. Adiyen would like to share SWAMI’s Awesome Concluding Writings in the December month page of 2018 KKT calendar as below which is the Ultimate Slokam.

*****************************

“Uyya Oraey Vazhi UdayavAr THiruvAdi”

(The Only way to succeed is by Grasping UdayvAr ThiruvAdi!)

“Kaliyum Kedum Kandukonmin”

(Kali will be vanquished; ‘Wait and Watch’)

********************************

Adiyen feel goose bumps after seeing Swami’s these writings in the calendar.

Since each one of us have gone through the same Sufferings, Birth, Death etc in the past Janmas (countless times) over and over again while we were with different JeevAthmas as family members & /or due to the society &/or due to external unexpected causes, Let’s NOT WORRY about our Karmas and its Effects, rather let’s “Continue our Gratitude” towards UdayavAr ThiruvAdi and “Sing the Glories” of UdayavAr ThiruvAdi Mahatmyam, which is  the ultimate solution for both “Athma UjjivanAm” and “SAVES” us while we are in Samsaram till we reach Moksham by Shedding our present Deteriorating ‘Sthoola body’ in this samsaram.

Swami’s ThiruvAdi Karunai:

  1. Removes our unlimited Karmas and
  2. Provides Kainkaryam and
  3. Delivers Moksham ‘SriVaikuntam’ in Same Janma.

Adiyen Sri Velukkudi Krishna Dasan,

Uyya Oraey Vazhi UdayavAr THiruvAdi,

Sarve Janaha Sukhino BhavanAthu,

Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu.

Sarvam Sri Krishna Kudumbham,

Sarvam Sri Krishnarpanam Asthu
