Srimate Ramanujaye Namaha,

Interesting question swamy..

But actually all food have lot of bacteria in them, even an apple has very large number of bacteria both outside and inside.

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/07/190724090255.htm#:~:text=Cite%20This%20Page%3A-,Frontiers.,you%20go%20organic.%22%20ScienceDaily.

So in reality we cannot avoid this.

But it is offered to perumaal , then taken by devotees and devotees are in mood of service to the Lord ( by shravanam, keerthanm, etc..) then those bacteria will quickly attain more higher conscious birth rapidly..

But the same logic cannot be applied to direct non-veg items , because Sr Krishna says in Bhagavat Gita , what are the food stuff he likes and accepts.. patram , pushpam, palam, toyam..etc.

Actually by material logic we cannot come to conclusion on what is the correct action to do..it is very intricately compleicated..best recourse is to follow what our acharyas have suggested.. that is the best solution based on which we can decide what needs to be done and what not?
