Srimate Ramanujaye namaha,

Namaskaaram swami.

I was fortunate to watch parts of spiritual development program for youth uploaded in telegram app.

The youngsters were bubbling with enthusiasm to ask many questions and you were answering them happily.

In one part, part 5, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NafiJTILbpk&feature=youtu.be towards the end you had explained that certain things in samsara is by chance and probability ( you had given examples of mass calamities , tsunamis etc) , “people affected in such scenarios need not have a common karma but it is by chance”

I am unable to digest or comprehend this fact that even without past life’s karma being a cause out of chance things could happen. ( only situation that can happen without our karma is Bhagavan’s grace to liberate us everything else which is material should rightfully happen only by karma,..that is what my understanding was so far.)

Kindly clarify.

Adiyen

Good and bad is both for good by Perumal.
Rakshanam and Sikshanam.
Dushta nigraham and sishta paripalanam.

Punishment is a means of reformation as per my learning.

Except thAyar status as per thenkalai standards adiyen agree to all other answers. Earlier Velukkudi Swamy has told adiyen she is “Special JeevAthmA”.
In Vadakalai standards thAyAr is also paramAthma. She also can give Moskham but she doesn’t. She has all the powers Perumal has.

Don’t know much in detail but just saying.

Srimathe ramanujaya nama:
Pranaamams to krishnan swami and bhagawata goshti.

Often we think that everything are preordained or fixed. Then it would mean that bhagawans swatantram is also pre determined. If it is predetermined, then it’s of no use in saying he is swatantran. Bhagawan may will anything at anytime. Just his willingness is enough to happen an event. Bhagawan wishes tsunami to happen now (at that point of time).Secondly if everything is fixed, then all our deeds and results will be look like fixed happenings. Which spoils the concept of our will or swatantram. Out of our will/swatantram we do many deeds and karma attracts as phalas. For those we suffer. Suffering, results in reduction of paapa karma.

Certain events happen specifically to reduce a paapa karma, which happens with mercyful sankalpam of bhagawan to reduce our paapam and correct us.
On Other case events happen randomly/by chance and the sufferings of those events reduce our paapam. Ie it dosnt hapen specifically to make suffer for a previos paapa.
But anyway if we suffer, paapam is going to get reduced. It’s all bhagavat sankalpam. Bhagawan may wish anything at anytime. Even now he can wish anything. So it’s not preordination.

Srimate Ramanujaye namaha,

Namaskaaram,

Swami I suppose the question was not clearly framed.

The question is not about whether event are fixed or preordained but the doubt was if we accept chance or probability that is some event (material) can happen to a person without any associated past karma how to accept /explain the same.?
