It is the prerogative of every teacher to assess the receiver before giving. If the student is not known, if the student is not seeking it submissively, plus many other criterias, the teacher can decide not to give. There are many examples of teachers in the history. Dronacharya has done it with his students; he chose to teach Arjuna certain skills (after testing) which he did not teach even Ashwaththama. Our own Ramanujacharya was tested 18 times!

To disrespect a person just because he did not give what I wanted is condemnable behaviour. The same person you have glorified many times in this forum… sometimes even mentioned he is better than VKswamy in some aspect (as per your perception).

So, it appears that you are totally unbiased; when someone seems nice to you, you glorify them; when they are not to your liking you immediately speak ill of them. Be it VKswamy any other person! totally unbiased indeed!

Point 2: If someone uses reference of mundane poets etc in a spiritual discourses and discussions (to support vedic knowledge), that is indeed wrong. If the incident you have described is true, then we have to express our displeasure. Good.

Point 3: I am not keen that you should quit this forum. It is my deep desire that you continue in this forum with nice Vaishnava behaviour consistently. Honestly, you are one of the very few who expresses deep devotion to acharya and Bhagavan many times. But sadly, once in a while you throw some improper expressions / offensive words towards even exalted Vaishnavas… including VKswamy. It will be nice if you can avoid this habit, please.

However, if ever you feel like quitting the forum next time, you can simply email me your Dharmasandheha forum password. I shall change your password and not share with anyone including you. That is as good as ‘unsubscribing’ you from the forum… IF THAT IS WHAT YOU REALLY DESIRE. If you do not desire that, please don’t simply keep repeating “I am going to quit this forum”. We are tired of that joke.

There is an element of truth is what you have said. There are many such people. But we can not bundle everyone in that group. There are many genuinely good upanyasakas too.

As long as we have the desire to gain fame / fortune by quoting a sloka, we will suspect others to do so. So, our judgement can be correct only when we give up such desire.

For instance, if you had wanted that sloka because of the desire that others will benefit from that sloka, then Perumal might have granted you access to it. Now He did not allow that to happen because you are dear to Him and He does not want you to get deviated by such fame. So He denied you access.

Vikram swamy, few thoughts from my side.

1. There is a possibility that the Swamy did not remember the sloka when you asked.
2. There is a possibility that he might have been short of time for urgent things to attend to..

So there are quite a few possibilities, we never know.

But yes your feeling of commercialization of Sat Vishayam is something many of us have felt also in many instances in our current society.. but as we have discussed in this forum many times.. there is no single person or entity we can blame, the whole society including us, are responsible, some more, some to less extent. When there is no proper varna ashrama dharma and brahmanas are left to take care of themselves without a proper system structure and if the brahmanas sons also want to get modern education then naturally such things are unavoidable. We cannot blame anyone in particular.

What can we do.. ?

1. If we are a good dharma samstapakar, we can create our own non commercial authentic system..

2. If not find such good organizations and support them

3. Else we just take the good things from different available sources 

Having said that , in Kaliyuga we cannot expect 100% purity and perfection at all times and all places.. things will be like that only swamy, we have to adjust ourselves, make discernment and choices for ourselves, take the good things and move on.. else we will loose our peace of mind.

Also for the sloka that you wanted, i did a google search using your statement in the post and it  gave this sloka.. not sure if this is what you wanted.

Expression of displeasure about such actions can be discussed in a forum. But expression of displeasure about the person should be mentioned only to the concerned person directly; it can not be discussed with others, that too in a forum. Discussing with others or in a forum violates the principle of “தீக்குறளை சென்றோதோம்”. If we still engage in such discussion we are no longer followers of Aandal; we too are to be considered followers of vairamuththu.

Therefore, I would like to request the forum administrators to kindly delete all complaining discussion about Sri. DS in the recent threads.
