Can we love ourselves?

Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha

Swamy NamaskAram,

Do we feel great about ourselves within us? Wont it result in superiority complex?

Do we feel dAsa bhAvam (inferior) when compared? Is loving ourselves in this life equals Kaivalyam?

Do we need to love ourselves in the first place then love god?

Sri Ramanuja Munaye Namaha,
Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami GUruve Namaha,

Dear BHagavAta,

If we just love oursleves, then it equivalent enjoying one self with no involvement of ParamAthma, which is against JeevAthma Swaroopam (True nature of each of JeevAThmas), like how we were doing it before hearing Swami’s UPanyasams, and how other Samsaris are currently doing.

If we Love the ParamAthma THE SUPREME BHagavAn SriKrishna, then the by-product also involves loving ourselves as well.

Clubbing from Swami’s Pravachanams “Vaartha Maalai, Alwargal Vaibhavam, GuruParamparai” upanyasams as below:

Kulasekara Alwar says, when we do kainkaryam, which makes all three (BhagavAN-Thayar-Us) Happy, then it means “Avanayum Avalayum Yennai Pattri Soru Thedubhavargal”, then ALwar says HE doen’t want that happiness, which is low level. Instead KUlashekara ALwar wants to see Happiness of Only “Thayar-Perumal like “Avanayum Avalyaum Pattri Soru (சோறு ) Thedubhavargal”
Avan means BHagavAN Sriman NarayanAn,
Aval means Sri MahaLakshmi Thayar,
Yennai means Each JeevAthmas,
Soru here means PUrushartham (destination) like Happiness.

So, Kulashekara Alwar says, HE wants to be like Achit (Jada Porul) while doing Kainkaryam, so that HE doesn’t want to be a part of enjoyment. When BHagavAN-Thayr THirumigam is Happy (PunnSirippu) looking at our Kainkaryam, then KUlashekara ALwar want to realize Himself as “Chit (JeevAThma)”, to enjoy the Beautiful Smile of Perumal-Thayar”.
************************

Another one from GuruParamparai about Acharya Swami Parasara BHattar.
Parasara BHattar Swami used to wear lot of gold ornaments, alankaram and then does Kalakshepam etc….ONe time, some shisya or a listener of Swami’s kalakshepam asked Swami, “Devareer is talking about improving Gyanam of BHagavat Vishyam and also about Vyragyam (detachment) on Materialistic things, but Devareer is wearing all costly stuffs and doing kalakshepams, if so, what will other think about Devareer”.

SWami replied, all other wear costly stuffs, ornaments, alankaram thinking that they (Athma) is Body, and “ENJOY THEMSELVES”, means “Love themselves” without involvment of ParamAThma Sriman NarayanAN. BUt, adiyen is wearing alankaram for adiyen’s ANtharyamai Peruma-THayar”. It is not for adiyen. THis is the TRUE LOVE towards ParamAThma, which will automatically make us happy.
******************

So, Dasaoham to BHagavAn is not Inferior, it is the Superior, since we (JeevAthmas) real nature from Swami’s PravAchanams is “Gyana Swaroopa Parathantra Swaroopam“.
Gyana Swaroopam : We JeevAthmas are made of Gyana iteself.
Parathantra Saroopam: Dependant/Servant of ParamAthma (SriKrishna).
********************
So, Enjoying ourselves without involvement of BHagavAn is Low Level happiness (Kalvalyam),
LOving Only ParamAthma SriKrishna is Parama Purushartham is Jeevathma (our) Swaroopam (True Nature).

So, Love GOD (BHagavAN SriKrishna) in first place, then continue loving BHagavAn, while doing so, the by-product is “our happiness” due to BhagavAN being HAPPY.

Idhai yellam naakku solli kuduttha Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swami THirviadiyil Kainkaryame ParamaPurusharttham.

*******************
Achitthai (Jada porulai) pol Kainkaryam seyyum podhu, Perumal-Thayar-Alwar-Acharyar-Sri Velukkudi Swami THiruMUgha Malartthiyai Paarrkkum podhu, Naam “Chitthu (Jeevaathma) yendru unarndhu Sondhasha pada vaendum.

Adiyen Sri Velukkudi Krishna Dasan,
Uyya Oraey Vazhi Udayavar THiruVadi,
Sarvam SriKrishnarpanam Asthu.

Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha

Dhanyosmi for detailed explanation. This requires more clarification

1. As per Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy’s upanyasam Kaivalyam= The state of enjoying one’s own self without the body. This also means praying to Srirangan for no more birth and death.

2. Kaivalyam is considered one of MOksham where they are called “Brahma Nishtas” . Sanath kumara maharishis who prayed Sriman NArAyanA in Srivaikuntam initially focused on NirguNa nirAkAra NAma Roopa Bedham Attra Nirvisesha para brahmam. Even their nishtai was shaken after Dharshana of Saguna Para Brahmam Sriman NArAyanA in Srivaikuntam

3. Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy referring to lower level of Bhakthi because it does not involve kainkaryam. They are nyAna yOga adhikAris so qualified for such feats.

4. While doing yOga at each level of chakra rising we get various benefits like ashta mahA Siddhi. Like walking on water, fire etc. Similarly Athma Dharshanam is a state where unlimited knowledge is experienced/realized

5. When we say unlimited knowledge it should include bhakthi towards Sriman NArAyanA (pArAthanthriyam) . Chances are that we souls deviate from track to reach EmperumAn again due to his Vichitra Eeshwara Sankalpam or fear of this terrible samSAram so we want to stay away from it in first place

6. Adiyen don’t think it is low level but it is a state which is before paramAthma sAkshAthkAram . It is because PerumAL is leaving the efforts to our selves (SAdhyOpAyam if adiyen is right) (SiddhOpAyam is his Siddham adiyen guess)

7. Adiyen question in this leelA Vibhuthi Kaivalyam is possible in samAdhi sthithi while this body is intact? DhurvAsar was in samAdhi but he came out of it when AmbrishA drank thulasi theertham. If one is coming out of samAdhi what is the use of being in samAdhi? Is this an alankArA shabdham to denote highest level of yOgathvam?

8. Same dhurvAsar got Shareera pragnya when Sudharshana chakra chased him

9. Why would a Brahma nistha NOT AWARE OF JEEVAN BEING A PARATHNTHRAN & NOT SWATHANTHRAN? If such a knowledge is lacking then why are they called “Brahma NishtA in first place?

What does “unlimited knowledge” mean that still lacks some elements?

“ParAsara Bhattar Swami used to wear lot of gold ornaments, alankaram and then does Kalakshepam etc” – Then why Srivathsa Chinhar (KoorEsar) had vairAgyam towards Gold? Was Swamy lacking AtharAthma gyAnam?

What lesson both incidents convey to us?
