Dear Sir,
I’m fasting on ekadeshi for around past 4 years. My parents and relatives are keep on saying me that being unmarried woman i should not fast on ekadeshi. They are stressing this so much every time that I should not fast. I’m really confused now. Can you please clarify whether unmarried woman can fast ? Or only after marriage we can fast ?? If we fast on ekadeshi in any way this affect the marriage life?? I really don’t like to ask this doubt as how doing fast for lord can affect one’s personal life. But I’m really worried now as many elders in my caste are saying this that I should fast without getting married. Please help me to get this doubt clarified.

Adiyean!

To my best knowledge, I haven’t not heard anything so. Only restriction on ladies is that they cannot chant/read Veda Manthras. However, Tamil Veda or Azwars Pasurams can very well be read.

Even logically speaking, will Bhaghavn hate if you observe Ekhdasi Vrathams?.NO.

Bhaghawan is eagerly waiting to see HIS children obeying HIS orders or follow what is said in Veda Shastras.  HE will be much more happy when you do what is supposed to as said in Veda Sastras..

Perhaps, your parents or relatives are concerned about your starving. But, Ekhadasi Vrathma brings two key benefits:

1. your health gets improved, yes, fasting twice a month is the best way of detoxing or removing unwanted things out of our body;

2. Spiritually, you are getting closer and closer to Bhaghawan- getting rid of all the Sins or Phabams and thus your Aathma Ghana is slowly getting cleared off the clouded past bad Kharmas.

Finally, Just for thought:

Until the age of 12, Phabham or Punyam is not earned by their deeds (Baala Paruvam or Children) or accounted for.

After the age of 12, Kharma starts counting and also earning as per the deeds (good or bad). In that sense, is it not good to observe Ekhadasi Vratham to get rid off accumulated bad kharmas??
