Sri Ramanujaya Namah,
My humble namaskar to Swami

My brother is getting married this June but by that time I will be 5 months pregnant. Can I do the rituals related to engagement and wedding as sister in law.

Kindly clarify adiyen’s sandeha.

Can someone reply please. I wanted to know the reason why some say that these rituals shouldn’t be done while being pregnant

Please experience this reply patiently and completely till the end

“Better ask the reason from the person who suggested not to do the rituals

If they are not able to answer then ignore the suggestion

If they give a reason and if it is acceptable then obey the suggestion”

If still confusing about deciding to whether or not take part in the rituals here is a likely answer

See this situation appears to be a conflict between FREE WILL and DESTINY

here the free will is “desire to participate in the rituals”

Destiny is ” coincidence of some marriage ritual with the biological happening called as pregnancy ”

From where did the” thought” about the desire to participate in the rituals came from or is it possible to control that thought –

actually a PERSON cannot know from where the ” thought” is coming and a PERSON cannot control or modify the THOUGHT – He or she simply believe that he or she is thinking or he or she is the thinker of the thoughts – well this is the illusion of Free Will , that is it appears for a PERSON that he or she has free will – but actually the thoughts and the resultant actions come from nowhere (from the perspective of the thinker) and he or she simply believes that he or she is the thinker and doer and consequently thinks that he or she is responsible for the consequences of the actions , it may either a reward and the resultant pride or it may be guilty of wrong doing and the resultant fear of punishment , but actually he or she is only the medium through which thoughts and actions happen , the PERSON has no control of it – well this is destiny

So in your current scenario you have no control of the “thought” you had for the desire to participate in the rituals and you have no idea from what did that “thought” came and you have no idea how did the coincidence of your biological happening and the marriage ritual happened

May be you as a PERSON simply believed you are the THINKER and so going to a DOER and now you are anxious about the consequences of the resultant ACTION , that is either happiness after doing the rituals or guilt and fear of punishment for doing something wrong

DOES IT SOUND RIDICULOUS FOR BELIEVING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS ABOUT WHICH YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA FROM WHERE IT IS COMING AND ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER THE SITUATIONS WHICH CREATE SUCH THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS

😀😀😀

Even this reply what you think you are reading is itself a destiny

So what a person can do at all – simply the answer is NOTHING

SURRENDER TO THE ULTIMATE – DON’T FIGHT WITH THE DESTINY – JUST OBEY AND FOLLOW IT.

Now lets see the first two statements in this reply

“Better ask the reason from the person who suggested not to do the rituals

If they are not able to answer then ignore the suggestion

If they give a reason and if it is acceptable then obey the suggestion”

This may be your destiny.

Thank you for the reply sir.

But I wanted to know if there is any mention of such rituals not to be done in Shastras. Because following Shastras given by our ancestors and gurus is much worth than asking the person who said not to do it as they don’t have the answer.

Looks like you want reference from shastras about rituals

In such case it is better to follow the advice of the vadhiyar swamy who is going to conduct the marriage

You have to follow the instructions of vadhiyar swamy

Rituals?
Even eating is a ritual for 5 vayus
While ours is the only community which does not overburden women.

“Don’t do this when you are physically weak”

Is misconstrued as a restriction on gender
