Updated on June 17, 2020 in General

சிறியன், have you every tried to learn the philosophy of life as presented by the different teachings such as Christianity, Islam, Budhdhism, Jainism, atheism, Nihilism, Taoism, Zenism, Saivisam, Kaumaram, Shaktham, Mayavadam, Adwaitam, Vishista-adwaitam and Dwaitam? If you have actually undergone a systematic careful study of the different philosophies, analysed the commonality and differences between these different schools of philosophies and then present your expert opinion, that is valid.

Or, have you studied / heard throughly the teachings of someone who has systematically studied the various philosophies, evaluated them carefully and explained the relative positions and validity of these philosophies? If you have undergone such a study, then you can be considered wise enough to share your educated opinion on this matter.

If you have not systematically studied yourself nor have you systematically learnt from an authority, but simply spewing your opinion just to get some attention, that just exposes the abyss of your foolishness. Please read Mark Twain’s quote above. That may be helpful to you.

best wishes

Kambandasan.

Srimate Ramnujaye NAmaha,

Namaskaaram Chiriyan Swamy.

Yes, Sanatana dharma does not force any one to take any specific path.. it does allow anybody to take any path depending on one’s maturity, realization and  taste.

But with respect to differences with other religions, in the example you have stated, we can not give the same side dish to a small child who cannot eat spicy things.. so his side dish will be plain mashed daal.. but if you give it to a mature adult he will not have taste for it.. So according to one’s maturity and need, there are multiple opportunities for every body to eat the roti.

Yes nobody should force anybody and in Santana dharma except for few instances, this has not been the case.

In some cases, if a adult who has eaten a spicy tasty food decides to go back to eating plain mashed daal, his well-wishers may persuade him to take better tasty food.

Let us eat what is good for us, and share with whoever are there near us, if they want. That is all we need to do and that is all we can do..

Adiyen

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha,

Namaskaram,

Adiyen feel Chiriyan Swami is not intending to talk about Rotti and Saalna.

Adiyen’s understanding of the initial post with Acharya ThiruvAdi Bhalam and Velukkudi Swami’s Aasirvadham Abhimaanam is as follows.

What he means is the fight going between religion to religion and within same religion fighting between faith to faith as he said as “இந்து கிறிஸ்துவன், முஸ்லிம், சைவன், வைஷ்ணவன், வடகல, தெங்கல, அத்வைதம், துவைதம் இப்படி பல பல சால்நாக்கள்.

when the Master for all in Almighty GOD as he said as “இப்போ ரொட்டி மாதிரி இருக்கிறவர் தான் நம்ம அண்ணன் கண்ணன், “,

So he says that whoever is in which ever religion or within particular religion of a specific faith, he says as they follow the Almighty GOD as”ரொட்டி மட்டும் சாப்பிட்டா ருசிக்காது.

So we ordinary devotees while in a particular faith on a particular religion whichever it is, they don’t have any authority to direct others that you should pray the One common Almighty GOD in the same way as how I pray, this is not possible at all, So one should pray the Almighty GOD in whichever faith we are and RESPECT other Faith’s and religions, since the Master Almighty GOD is common for all of us. He is telling this to All religions and all Faith’s within each religion, and it appears as directed to us. So he says “அதுனால,

This is what Adiyen understood from Chiriyan Swami’s post.

Moreover elaborating Chiriyan Swami’s post in adiyen’s thought process with Acharya ThiruvAdi Bhalam and Velukkudi Swami’s Aasirvadham Abhimaanam, the philosophies and religion should lead to Sneham & Bhakthi to Almighty GOD as well as Sneham towards all fellow beings of ANY Religions and Faiths, but ironically, we think that “WE ONLY WILL GO TO MOKSHAM, HOW OTHERS WILL GO”, where we tend to forget to think that BhagavAn is the Moksham giver and NOT US. So philosophies is only for our Anubhavam and not means to Moksham, since BhagavAn is the Means to Moksham. So one has NO authority to look other people in other philosophies in a Mean way, since BhagavAn is the Owner for everyone and not us.

Do we really Respect other religions and Faith’s while following ones own is the question that is raised by Chiriyan Swami to all religions and Faith’s is adiyens humble understanding from his post.

Adiyen (ElayaAlwar) Srinivasa (DhoddayAcharyar) Dasan.

Srimate Ramnujaye Namaha!

Namaskaaram.

Elayalwar swmai, yes your understanding of Chiriyen swami’s post is correct.. I replied in the earlier post using his own analogy. :)-

All “bonafide” religions are a guide in the long path/journey to Moksham.. wherever one is , at that point one needs help applicable to that time and place.

All are same in that they direct us to the same end goal ( if they are bonafide and not modified by man made manipulations.. which has happened in many cases)

But they are different in the sense that  each religion  guides a further refinement..  The road narrows down as we travel further and further.. but the real fact is all those in the end have all most probably traveled  the thick broad roads at the start of the journey.

So yes we must respect all faiths and religions but with proper understanding.

Adiyen

I don’t understand why so many people are dabbling on a post with an anology which is fundamentally wrong.

Perumal is the Bhoktha, not the bhoga. The concocted analogy presents as if WE are the bhoktha and Perumal is the bhogo! As if we combine the roti (Perumal) and the side dish (choosen process) for our own pleasure. This is utter rubbish is not in line with Ramanuja-darshanam.

Because of this fundamental misconception comes the second layer of misconception – that all the different processes are equivalent and each person chooses as per one’s own liking. The fact is, all processes are NOT equivalent. As EnpaNifan-swamy has clearly explained, each individual soul is placed in a specific process which is ideally suited for that soul’s progress. All the processes are indeed meant to help and guide each soul; but they are not equivalent. Saying they are all equivalent is like saying, in a school, LKG to 12th all classes are equivalent and one can choose to attend whichever class one likes. No! Each student is placed in a class appropriate for his progression, and the ultimate stage is class 12 (in the school).

Please listen to our Swamy’s upanyasam on Datti-panchakam where he clearly explains all the different philosophies and how Vaishnavism is the ultimate process (may be he has covered this topic in other instances also). Our Udayavar has spent so much effort to clearly explain the flaws and relative position of the different philosophies in Sri-Bahsyam; in fact his explanations on the shortcomings of other philosophies occupy more content than explanation of Vishistha-adwaita. Because he doesn’t want us to get confused; he doesn’t want us to pass on the wrong message to the next generation. Already our society is so confused… thanks to the spread of atheism by certain political outfits. Only in the past couple of decades our Swamy and others like him have given us a ray of hope. Despite listening from them if we continue to dabble in the misconceptions based on atheists, and even come with some vyakyaanam “may be he meant this may be he meant that”… what to say?!

Such false leads for discussion should be identified at the first instance and weeded out. If the person is willing to learn he can be assisted in his learning. If he doesn’t display any such indication and intent only of seeking attention, we need to deal with such instances as appropriate.

 I can’t help… but I am very angry.

My understanding to what he said:
Bread= Same God
Salna Stuff= Different approach

Sarva deva namaskAra: kesavam prathi gacchathi

Adiyen said even the bread is not the same. His anubhavam can be different for different people. He himself can be Ranganathar or Krishnar or Ramar.

So neraya bread 😊

Adiyen don’t know what is salna. We don’t use that term but seen in TV as ParottA SAlna.

Prapannan swamy, thank you for sharing this pasuram. I have heard this before but now I don’t remember the explanation. Could you kindly share the meaning as explained by our acharyas. If possible you may indicate us to some upanyasam by our swamy. Thank you very much.

Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan
Sri U Ve Mudaliandan swami sharanam
Sri U Ve Velukudi Krishnan swami sharanam

Adiyen is just a tool used by perumal to point to this pasuram swamin, as per nammalvar and our sri velukudi swamy upanyasam – different adhikAris (qualified persons) based on their level of knowledge take shelter of different dhEvathAs according to their desire assuming them as their master who will fulfil their desires. It is appropriate for those dhEvathAs to be the ones who fulfil those desires. But, it is bhagavAn who is the master of everyone who stays as the antharAthmA (in-dwelling soul) of those dhEvathAs, ensures that such persons who desire for certain goals get their goals fulfilled according to their karmA. But its certain that paramathma is our sriman narayanan , sriyapathy.

Adiyen prays to perumal that chiriyan swamy’s mind changes some day to accept sriman narayana as paradevatha as we all were unaware in some previous janmas.

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha,

Beautiful Swami NamAlwar’s paasuram.

Adiyen believe, Chiriyan Swami already understands Sriman NarayanA is Paradevata but in a different name as Kannan by saying “….
