Sometimes we are pushed to do something and we do better.

Sometimes we get stressed and we can’t focus.

Just like board exams. Certifications at office level.

Sometimes if we are let free I think achieve more.

How to go about training our mind not to get distracted and be focused in what we do?

Vikram swamy, namaskaram.

adiyen also in same boat. Perumal has created this system of external factors to channelise our efforts; otherwise I will be utterly lazy and get into deeper tamo-gunam.

But I do have theoretical understanding on how we should be: we should not be motivated by these external factors. If the activity is directly related to kainkaryam, our motivation should be to please Perumal. If the activity is something like our office work (which we can not directly see as kainkaryam) our motivation must be to get this done as efficiently and as good as possible, so that I can go on and do my kainkaryam properly. For example, “if I promptly finish my office work by 5 or 6pm, then I can go home and do sandhyavandanam properly; I can recite Visnu sahasranaamam properly. I can interact with children and teach them something about Perumal and acharyas. I can study something from scriptures. I can hear the missed out En Pani. I can hear some past upanyasam”. This is the right kind of motivation.

Trying to cultivate this.
