In jyotisha sasthram it is said that a horoscope with ketu from the 12 th position from lagnam gives gyanam and leads to moksham .
Is moksham pre determined in some cases ?

The probabilty of getting ketu in the 12th position from lagnam is one in 12. If those, with ketu in the 12th position from lagnam in their horscope get motcham, then one in 12 get motcham. Hence, it is unlikely that people with such horoscope attain motcham. May be they are aligned towards spirituality.

Ketu moves from one rasi to another rasi in 1.5 years. From sun rise to next day sun rise, all 12 lagnas will be covered. That means, on a particular day, when ketu is in a particular rasi, there is a possibility for 12 lagnas. Hence, probability of getting any lagna is 1 in 12, on any day. Therefore, the probabilty of getting ketu in the 12th position from lagnam is one in 12. (It may not be exactly 1 in 12 but closer to that depending upon the duration of lagnas)
